This is sort of a "modding" or at least "custom settings" question.
In H:\Users<USER>\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\UserOptions.ini It says, to paraphrase "new system for overriding settings: edit registry under the key" HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\The Fun Pimps\7 Days To Die
I am specifically trying to change
"DayNightLength_h344603321"=dword:00000078 (120 minutes per in-game day) to
"DayNightLength_h344603321"=dword:000000f0 (240 minutes per in-game day)
I have also attempted to disable the intro movie as a test to see if my changes were applied. In sum, after repeated attempts at this, I have failed to get my changes to save in the registry.
I am the Administrator on the machine; I made sure I had full control permission for the TFP parent directory and 7DTD directory in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE . . . I attempted to temporarily disable my security suite (ESET) thinking that might be causing the problem. But to no avail. Every time I make the changes and exit regedit, when I launch the game the changes are reverted.
My hunch would be that there is an upstream file in the boot sequence that does something that is resetting the values? The proper way to circumvent this would presumably be to "create a mod" and launch the game that way?
