Crouching and the foodbar.

Unless I am fighting from the crouch position, perching on the crouch should not consume food twice as fast as running around looting shooting, etc.

My .02.

Hmmm. I timed it, the ticks go twice as fast.

Crouch, start timer, you will drop 1 point in about 30s. Now go out in the wild and go crazy. start walking and hit timer, kill, mine, main etc. it will be about a min for one point of food to drop.

You guys can try it in case I had one too many when I tried it :).

It may be backwards, which would suck because food goes by faster now....it seems to me.

OR....there is a decimal error somewhere. Like instead of 2.0 should have been .2

Watching a Woodle, figured I'd do the passive test:
5 mins standing = 3 points
5 mins standing crouched = 3 points

(Seemed to be roughly on the dot, 1 point per 100 secs)

Base consumption doesn't change. Stamina recovery consumption might, but I can't reliably get the game to do things while I alt-tab... might setup something later.

Some more data points, not seeing a significant difference:

5 mins ADS, standing = 3 points
5 mins ADS, crouching = 3 points

5 mins running into a wall = 7 points (roughly exact, my autoclicker is a plant pot...)
5 mins crouched running into a wall = 6 points (7 at 5:20)

5 min swinging a bat = 15 points (pretty exact)
5 min swinging a bat crouched = 16 points

Basically unskilled character, some skills will modify the consumption; but none should increase passive, crouched. But I don't know what the book for "no stamina use while crouch sprinting" actually does - it Might just increase stamina regen while crouched, and increase the recovery costs even passively. And can't say I remember all of the effects...

Interesting, i will check later today.

What I did was start watch at point change and stop it at the next point change.

I didn't think I was encumbered but I had items in backpack. I was holding a bow so maybe that.

I get that actual crouching would be tiring, but I see the game crouching having different meanings. Sure, sometimes you actually crouch to duck, but mostly it means I'm in stealth, which I don't see as actually crouching. I see it as expressing my intent to be quiet. The control is doing double duty.

When you test again, make sure nothing else is happening. Hot/cold temp, not full health while having the healing perk, etc. will impact your stamina and impact your test if you're not in the exact same situation with each test. Also best to test over a period of time rather than a single tick of stamina regen. I haven't tested it, but based on you having different results than theFlu, these are possible reasons that I can think of.
