Crossbow bolts

I am on A20 B238 and I have an iron crossbow and a composite crossbow. I have iron bolts in my pack as well as the stone ones. You might know what is coming next but I cannot change to the iron bolts. I have followed some of the suggestions on 'tinterweb. No luck. I have tried putting the stone bolts into storage to see if it will pick up the iron bolts and it does not load them into the crossbow, it shows zero bolts available.  have the radial wheel to select ammo, it does show stone bolts but not the iron ones.

Typical, it is now working. What fixed it is the time and tested way of fixing things that are to do with computers, well, 2 options

1) Swear at it

2( threaten it with a hammer

 
Are you playing with any mods?

I use bows all the time and haven't seen that issue; though not crossbows.  I will load up a test game maybe this evening and play around with crossbows to see if I can reproduce the issue on a vanilla game.

Fairly certain that your computer didn't care you threaten it with a hammer  😉

 
It was my big, a HUGE BAD, I had arrows installed instead of bolts. a big DUUHHHH All sorted out
