Crash to desktop

Since downloading the V1.0 b3i6 exp patch I haven't been able to enter a game. I've tried with an existing game and a new game, in both cases I crash to the desktop during the loading screen that say 'loading game data'. I've tried rebooting the machine and verified the game files with no change.

Edit: Same result with pregen maps.

Try launching the Game Launcher and then go to the tools tab.  Select Clean game data.

Then use the tool the purge old information prior to the recent update.  Note this action will delete any saved games, worlds, settings.

It's what I do for every experimental update and I have had zero game issues so far.

 
I gave that a try, the game crashed on the character creation screen. When I restarted it crashed on the 'Loading game data' screen as before.

 
Funny because updating from 316 to 317 caused two crash-to-desktops for me. I was able to get into a game and play for some time though before the crashes.

I've never had that happen before. The only type of crash I've had in the past was the game freezing. 

I restarted my PC (which also updated Windows) and that seemed to fix it...so far.
