Hello!

It looks like I've been IP banned from Epic Online Services (EOS).

Not sure what would have caused the ban considering this is the only game I play adjacent to EPIC and I only play with in RL friends. I think I may just be in an unlucky blanket ip ban.

You can see a chain of discussion here if you would like.

The TL;DR is:

I get a 403 on the api link though: https://api.epicgames.dev/sdk/v1/default?platformId=WIN

That link produces a "403 Forbidden" response when I click it on my normal ISP. When I turn on VPN I get a JSON response.

This is not letting me start 7d2d normally.

So a temporary solution is to just play with a VPN. Is there any other way that this can be fixed?

 
Just to add to the severity of this 'bug', this renders multiplayer unplayable as this appears before the title screen. When this happens multiplayer is not an option and therefore renders the game useless in effect, at least the way I intend to play. "Join a game" is greyed out. Should this be considered a bug or just is this just a feature?

 
You still have an old mod in there, so something wasn't fully cleaned up. Delete your mods, then use the Launcher/Tools/Clean game data... menu
and select all the boxes and press clean. After that, don't start your game. Verify files twice through Steam and then try to play.

I don't think this is the issue as it works with my VPN.

Now saying this - it finally just works... without a VPN. I guess my ip changed with my ISP.

 
You didn't get up banned by EOS, if you did it would say so. This is simply a case of your network not able to establish a proper connection, using a VPN would indicate something along the lines between the isp and there. It could be numerous things, but it definitely wasn't an IP ban.

That link you tried to go to would of course be forbidden, everyone would be forbidden to access that from a standard browser, since it's a dev api  ;)

I get a JSON response from EOS (Now), whereas before i received a 403 forbidden, unless I was on a VPN.

What do you see when you go to the link?

Why does it work now?.. when I have made no changes to fix it, I wonder...

[my only guess is an ip ban]

Dedicated Server Does Not Appear in List, or is Unable to Connect to EoS

Making a note of this because it has been coming up as an issue for a lot of servers not just with 7 Days, but pretty much any that utilize EoS for the server listings. The issue is a result of some changes Epic made late last year.

In addition to opening ports 26900 TCP and 26900-26903 UDP, you may also need to install the revocation certificate from here for EoS. The downloaded r2m02.crl file must be installed I by selecting Place all certificates in the following store and selecting Trusted Root Certification Authorities. A system restart may be needed.

Thank you for your suggestion SylenThunder but I'm sure the revocation certificate is not the issue, as it was solved with an ip change.

 
Well, if you want to believe you were IP banned then go ahead :)

But if you say the ban is true because the browser says Forbidden, then I must be IP banned too, but I'm certainly not since all 6 of my machines I used today all connected to EOS just fine (and my IP is static and won't change unless i request it. :)

Ah! Sorry, I don't mean to come off as obtuse. I think is totally possible that I wasn't IP banned.

The link was just an excellent indicator if I was able to connect or not to EOS. It helped me troubleshoot, it was exactly correlated to me being able to connect to EOS or not; with the VPN testing I was doing.
