Corrupted game saves

I'm not sure if the devs read the forum topics, but if you do, please do something about the save system. I'm tired of starting a new game. Every time the PC crashes or just shuts down due to a power outage, the saves are constantly broken. 

 
Would be great, but for a game like this, it's a little hard.. backups for a cheap option, battery power for an expensive one. :)

 
It would be better to fix your PC freezing and install an uninterruptible power supply. Hardware malfunctions cannot be solved using software.

It would be better to have a normal working code. No fkin game has ever broken all your months of progress when your PC shuts down, except 7dtd.

Just so you are aware, if you crash, do not load the game afterwards until after you have replaced the current save for that game with the backup save for that game.  That should completely resolve any corrupted save problems.  You just might be a minute or so back from where you were when you crashed. 

Now, regarding saves... This game saves far more often than most games and so it is far more likely for a save to be corrupted.  The save won't be corrupted if the game isn't in the process of saving during a crash.  For games that save only once in a while, the odds of a fresh happening during the save and corrupting it are very low, while this game saves often and so has a higher chance. 

They have said they are working on improving saves/backups.  I agree that they need improved and TFP seems to also think so since they said it was something they were working on improving.  That being said, I don't think I have had a corrupted save from a crash since maybe A20 and during the hot days in the past couple weeks, if I forgot to turn on a fan next to my desktop computer, it would overheat and shutdown during the game.  This happened a number of times and my saves were never corrupted, so I think it has been at least somewhat improved.

 
It was mentioned that they were looking into changes of the save system, but no ETA when that would occur, if they are able to pull it off, and what it would look like.  So your current option would be a backup save mod or manually saving your saved game files in another location.
