PC Cop spit can go through bullet proof glass now?

I have a wall in my horde base that i'd normally make out of iron bars, protecting my generator and switches.

I also used to use iron bars to protect the lights on the ceiling. On this most recent play through i noticed cop spit could go through bars now, thought ok...i guess that makes sense. So i changed it all out for bulletproof glass plate.

cop spit went right through a solid wall of bullet proof glass and took out 2 of my 4 switches, and another took out my lights.

Is it a bug? is it intended?

 
Not sure if bug or intended but it happens with everything. I think it's because of an AOE effect.(which sucks btw if true)

 
Cop spit can damage you through an entire reinforced concrete block if you're standing right by it so either it's intended or another thing that needs polishing, probably the latter.

 
I think you guys are right, i did a bit of remodeling and found some reinforced concrete blocks that were completely encased by other reinforced concrete blocks had taken damage. that's not cool :distrust:

 
I think cop spit now drops an acidic "cloud" AoE damaging effect wherever it lands. I am seeing random small damage all over the walls of my main base superstructure that could only be explained by that. Plus you can actually see a green cloudy after-effect when their spit hits.

 
I think you're right. But still...solid blocks ought not to be permeable. They should take surface damage sure (eventually destroying the block), but anything behind the block should be safe. Otherwise the spit is too OP as there is no real defensive structure possible. Well, a 4-block thick wall, I guess, but that's asking a bit much of us poor builders.

It could be that the game is taking the "easy" way out and just filling an n-block radius with corrosive cloud regardless of what blocks are within that volume. What needs to happen is the spit needs to have a point of origin (the spot where it first lands) and then the cloud expands from there, being clipped by solid blocks, damaging them but not what is behind them.

Easy to say, harder to do I'm sure.

I got the sense that it's splash damage now from point of impact.

I have since started to double fortify on that account with mixed results.

 
Time to use honeycomb walls instead of just rows or blocks directly next to each other. I agree that incased blocks shouldnt take damage though. So if you have a 3 deep wall, the middle layer could be getting worn and you might not even know about it? And you wouldnt even be able to repair it without breaking the blocks infront/behind Ill be checking this out more when i get chance. =)

If intended, an area repair would be nice, a return of the fixer perk but different hmm

 
Oh the irony. Cop spit may be able to pass through Glass, but light sure can't. I erected a few Motion Sensors and covered the front of them with BPG to protect from damage, and lol, they don't function!! Replaced the BPG with Iron Bars, and they work fine.
