First off; I'm loving the 2.5 update. I wanted to wait for a big update like this before posting anything so there wasn't doubling up on things that were already being worked on. I thought of saddle bags for 2-wheeled vehicles, but you all made it better by applying to all of them. I also see drone pathing has been improved, but I think it could use a little tweak still, which will be mentioned first. I'm sure there are mods for some of these things, but it'd be cool if they were in the base game. Anywho, let's get on with it! Hold on to your butts, cause there's a good bit lol
This will have to be broken up due to character limits (10,000, though I apparently only have 9800 something characters... but anyways)
Drone Pathing: Once placed, the drone could fly behind and be locked in place at 3 blocks high. Could play around with other positions (mostly for 3rd person view), but this would actually make the drone light mod a lot more viable ( I really like how that light looks and would be more willing to use is if it stayed pointing in the direction I needed it to). If you move with keyboard/left stick, it moves with you. When standing still, moving with mouse/right stick will allow you to access it easily. This will also keep it from being in front of you in the middle of a fight (especially when moving backwards). Would have to play around with it's pathing when digging a hole before the area is comfortable enough for it
Drone Mods: It would be neat if there was a "full set" bonus with all the mods equipped (would need one more mod slot to pull this off). Maybe something along the lines of:
Armor = double the damage reduction bonus
Morale = double the stamina regen
Cargo = triple the storage it provides (so if someone just wanted full cargo mods, they'd still benefit from that more)
Light = no longer affects stealth
Medic = can use splints, casts, and painkillers
Cosmetics & Such
If this makes a return someday, have a primary and secondary slot for dyes. This might be a lot of work for someone to have base and accent colors on all of the armor and vehicles, but it would be pretty sweet!
Have other materials be used to make apparel decorations (like bones, leather, polymers, grass, and cloth). This will make use of some of the materials that generally are easy to find and tend to stack up a bit in storage (if you're a loot goblin like me anyway lol). Add other materials to the list if ya want
Craftable mannequins for quick armor swapping would be sweet. Could also just have them around the base as decorations wearing whatever gear
Use brass to craft fun new horns for vehicles. Maybe add a specific horn slot for them too
Perks
Huntsman could be moved to the General Perks tab. Can also give it a 2% chance per rank to harvest eggs from chickens, vultures, and snakes. I know chicken coops are coming, but it'd still be cool
To replace Huntsman's spot in Fortitude, can bring back Well-Insulated and rename it Weathered or Seasoned Veteran (or leave it as is I suppose). Maybe give +1 or +2 insulation per rank and extend the timer when out in a storm per rank (12 seconds per rank to total 1 minute at max ranks?). Maybe reduce damage from storms?
Cardio can have a +2% increase to run speed per level
Allow the increased jump heights in Parkour be toggled. Maybe have a little button in those ranks to be swapped on and off, or key-bind a button so it's on the fly with a little indicator so we know at which height we're jumping at (a little jumping man with N (for normal height), +1, or +2 beside him). I've noticed people tend to stop at rank 2 (don't know why they don't at least go to rank 3 lol) because a lot of the time that 2 meters of extra jump height tends to be more detrimental than beneficial. I think this would solve that issue and encourage folks to put more ranks into it
Weapons & Mods
Claymore Explosives would be cool. Land mines are decently useful, but having one that was directional would be awesome. You could place them and angle them like the auto turrets, and maybe have a short trigger zone (1 or 2 meters?) but a bigger blast zone (7 meters?). This way it has a further reach than air filter land mines without making them obsolete. I'd even go as far as giving them the same target options as the auto turrets (don't wanna go blowing up your allies or yourself!)
Spear Thrower/Harpoon mod. I don't know if there's a demand for this, but I think it'd be a cool option. Basically just make a rope that's attached to the spear to give it the old throwing power attack, but then attack/power attack again the pull it back to you. This way, you won't have to worry about losing it
Crossbow Autoloader mod. This one's fairly self explanatory. Can hold 5 bolts before reloading and may take longer to reload (like a tiny Drum Magazine but for crossbows)
Bicycle Chain mod. Increases the speed of the bicycle. This would get a bit more life out of it
Diamond Tip mod. This mod is kinda cheeks as is. Given the material cost and that it's only 5% better than the Structural Brace mod, it's pretty much never worth crafting or using. I'd say at least make it double the Tempered Blade mod (so add +20% block damage to it). By all means, make it even better than that
More specific melee weapon mods would be cool. Stun Baton has the Repulsar mod and Clubs have 3 ( don't know why those 3 can't be used with Sledgehammers, and this is coming from a Knuckles guy!). I've seen Broken Glass for Knuckles before (I know it's basically the Serrated Blade mod, but it can be applied to all Knuckles, not just the steel ones). Not sure what could happen for Knives
Maybe another Baton type? it's the only one that has 2 types instead of 3. Police Baton perhaps? Push Stun Baton further down the craft list
A better sound for the Auto Shotgun. Something with a bit more bass and boom to it
Athletic Hat: the bonus for this is also cheeks. Perhaps increase buff durations by 5% per level? Make level 6 give +30% or +50%
For a pretty unpopular opinion that I'm sure I'll catch flak for if implemented; I think anything that gives a general damage bonus should be halved from what it is now. Preacher Gloves clearly reign supreme amongst folks for obvious reasons (+60% to all damage versus undead, which is what you're fighting 99% of the time), but there are a few others. Commando Gloves give the same ranged damage bonus with all ranged weapons (+50% at level 6, which I assume robotic turrets, bows, and crossbows are included in that) versus the Ranger Gloves only applying to Revolvers and Lever-Action Rifles and Enforcer Full Set only applying to Revolvers and Desert Vulture (+50% for both). Biker and Raider Gloves actually give 10% more melee damage bonus to everything (+60% at level 6) versus Nomad Gloves that increase melee damage only to radiated, infernal, and charged zombies (+50% at level 6)
Food & Meds
New craftable meds would be nice. Even if they're similar to the candy buffs instead of being new, that would be cool
Fishing I'm sure has been a wanted thing. This would of course mean that there would be new food recipes to go along with it
Super Corn to me is kind of not that useful as is, mostly given the very little recipes it can be used for. Maybe it can be used for fertilizer and applied to farm plots (once per crop) to make things grow faster? Would work the same way if tilling the land came back
Misc.
Sticky UI: this still happens occasionally (even in 2.5). A refresh button in the in-game menu would be nice so you wouldn't have to exit the map an reopen it to clear it
Journal/Notebook: it'd be cool to be able to craft one, use it, then have a page/tab to be able to jot down notes that stays with you (signs are stationary)
Proximity Voice Chat: this would be more for people who want more realism and teamwork. Of course this would be a toggled option, but it'd be even cooler if you could toggle the range too. Bonus points if you can make the voices fade at whatever distances instead of just a hard cutoff
Barbed Wire: make this a multi-shape block with the spool style and razor wire (or make a razor wire block that has a chance to cause bleed?)
