PC Console Needs Some Lovin

Hi, I just wanted to start by saying. FiNALLY is on console. Woot. Also... we all know console will probably never get mod support. We are in 2024 now though with our games? Can we get some Quality of life Updates for the UI.

1. Food and Hunger should be seen as a bar on HUD. (Edit: oh I see the bars... they very tiny lol)

2. Should be able to toggle on and off Mini Map. (Add a Mini Map)

3. Update how many claim blocks we can have. Allowing us to set an amount for the players on server.

4. Why can we not generate our own maps like PC?

5. Raise the Player limit from 4 to more. Plenty of games allow for many players beyond 4 on consoles.

6. Give us console command access.

7. I can't think of any more at the moment but when I do. I'll update. :) QOL update to modernize the game would be 100%.

1. Food/hunger and drink/thirst are bars on the HUD. Right above your action items and experience progress bar.

2. Mini Map is not likely to happen. It was removed from the game back in Alpha 8. I don't believe anyone has modded that in over the past decade either.

3. When cross-platform gameplay is enabled, you will be able to join PC dedicated servers with this configured.  The default is three.

4. Because your hardware is not currently capable of it with the current levels of optimization in the game. TFP hopes to add it to the consoles eventually, but it will require a LOT of optimizations to get it to work due to the lack of CPU power and usable RAM on the console.

5. Again, your hardware does not have the resources to support this currently. Series S is limited to two players because it is so weak. With future optimizations and cross-platform gameplay it is expected to be raised to 8 for PS5 and Series X, and 4 for the Series S. You would also be able to join PC servers that have larger player counts, however anything past 20 is not stable on most hardware, and 30 is a hard cap with extremely fast and optimized hardware. Most rentals do not offer the latter.

6. You will need to fight Sony and Microsoft on this. Part of their requirements for posting the game was removing console access.

Food and water bars are a bit hard to see it would be good if they would stick out a bit more.

Mini map, more claim blocks and console commands would be cool someday but random maps I'm looking forward to and will need. Got 4 worlds going now

Cross play is coming? Like it's a 100% thing or something they are hoping for? Because that would solve a lot of problems I have with console edition. I have it on both. So I could totally get a dedicated server and add the server side mods and then just connect with my console.

I saw on another thread one of the Mods mentioned it’s already working, they’re just waiting for certification.

I agree this would solve a lot of issues. I’m a bit puzzled by some of the restrictions because I’ve got a old desktop with a terrible, old, processor and around a quarter of the RAM that the Series X has running as a dedicated server and it’s able to handle 4 connections fine. Granted, it’s not also trying to run the game, but still, seems like there are some optimization issues going on.

That said, dedicated servers with cross play are a better option for a lot of people I think.
