Connection To Server Failed

Summary: I cannot connect to a server that I previously played on A18, A17 and other previous versions. The server connection always times out. I have tried connecting to other servers, which all have the same issue now (since moving to A19).

The important lines are the LiteNetLib trying to connect and failing. I checked with the server admin and LiteNetLib is *not* disabled in the serverconfig file.

SteamNetworking is disabled on the server, so I know I cannot connect that way.

Some other players were initially struggling to connect but we believe this was due to the server being unable to handle multiple downloading a 14K world simultaneously. I have tried connecting with 0 people on the server and still cannot get on, regardless of how populated the server is.

Other things I have tried:

  • Verified game files using Steam
  • Flushed DNS cache
  • Completely clean-installed the game for a 2nd time
  • Including removing related Registry entries and AppData files
  • Checked all relevant ports are opened in router and windows firewallimage.png


The only other noteworthy thing I can think of is that some online port-checking websites claim the above ports are 'closed' but another more advanced one instead found that they were being 'filtered', presumably for security reasons.

Any and all help is much appreciated!

 
Update: I have also turned off Firewall and temporarily disabled my antivirus program and the game still cannot connect to any servers.

 
Update 2: I can connect to other servers via SteamNetworking only. It appears that LiteNetLib is the issue here.

 
Confirmed to be having the same issue in console when connecting, if I restart my client after several attempts it eventually lets me connect but seems random at this point in time mostly ending in timeouts.  

Did you validate your files? Yes

Are you using any mods? No

EAC on or off? On

Antivirus disabled

Firewall disabled

This is only necessary if you're running a server.

Also, I tried connecting to the server shown in your logs and got the same error. I can connect to

other servers without any issues.

It doesn't respond to a ping and a tracert fails. Indications are that that server is not working right,

or it is not online.

So maybe the problem is with the server and not you. (assuming the info in your log exerpt is correct)

Maybe ask the server admin for a log file to post here.

No client restart needed just reconnect attempts until it goes through,  I also sent a DM to the devs on the subreddit and made a post over there to see if anyone has any ideas on what is going on. 

 
Solved. It was a combination of being unwhitelisted (now fixed) and the IP of the server changing by 2 digits.

 
I can say that I have some background in running dedicated servers, and I've tried quite a few. I had a problem once because my server wasn't showing up in server list A17, but it was because I still had the old serverconfig.xml. After I figured this out, another issue appeared, I couldn't get the dedicated server to host a game, it was always showing "Connection timed out" or "Could not retrieve server info" but I was able to fix this after all. I don't know, maybe because I gathered experience but after I got my dedicated server from gthost.com, I didn't experience any similar issues, so I think the server makes the difference.
