PC Coal

I've found nitrate powder in Perishton as the primary mineral, lead in the forest, and shale and iron in the desert... Wasteland maybe for coal? I have a tunnel from the gas station next to the river in the desert biome, all the way to the wasteland hub town... No abundance of any one thing, just a little of all... Snow biome maybe... I'm waiting for the whole map to cave in with the amount of tunneling I have... What a sight, that'd be... Thanks for the info slayers

Burnt forest for coal, just gather burned wood (the burned logs on the ground, including those looking as if on fire. You will gather wood, and some coal.

The very thick trees have coal when chopping them down. Them trees usually in front of them old houses next to mail box. Wasteland wood pieces all over has coal.

I usually find a lot of above ground coal deposits in the winter biome (they are hard to see) but I find a lot in the green biomes as well. The new mining update definitely changed a lot of things, I would suggest digging some above ground gravel spots and find coal then mine underneath (or expand your tunnels to that part of the map)

I've tried the hunt and peck with the gravel patches... I'm trying not to turn the game into dig dug... I'll have to start making some runs into the burnt forest and chopping up some stuff and see if the coal reward is worth it....

There is also a wiki link at the top of this page that tells you where the ores can be found. Dig a mine in the burnt Forrest to fine coal ore. In my game ive found a pre made mine in almost every biome with plentiful ores, so i got luckyyyyyy

Burnt forest is where i go for coal in early game or when i just need some quickly. with a 50 quality stone axe and 1 level of miner 69er, i can harvest 300 to 400 pieces in about an hour. with a fine steel axe and all max mining skills, i get the same amount in about 10 min.
