Cloud Save Sync Issue – Error 0x83860012 on Xbox

Hello,

I am having an issue with 7 Days to Die on Xbox. When I try to sync my save data from the cloud, I get an error message saying:

"We can't sync your data with the cloud right now."

The error code I receive is 0x83860012.

Steps I Have Tried:

• Restarted my Xbox

• Uninstalled and reinstalled the game

• Changed DNS and MAC settings in my Wi-Fi configuration

• Deleted reserved and saved game data locally

• Logged out and back into my Xbox account

• Tried using a mobile hotspot instead of Wi-Fi

• Factory reset my Xbox while keeping my games and apps

• Played the game via Cloud Gaming, and my save works fine there, but my Xbox refuses to sync the data when choosing the cloud option

I have already spoken with Xbox Support, and they directed me to contact The Fun Pimps for further assistance.

Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue? Has anyone else experienced the same problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hey, two things I would try, first would be a power cycle. It's different from a restart, shutting it down then removing the power cable.

You've... really gone through the list of things I found suggested. I will forward your post for backup,  hang tight

Thanks for the reply. Ill be patient, take your time :)
I around the 3 of march did some of those steps to solve a minecraft issue. Then a world corrupted and forza horizon 5 had some errors. Forza after a few hours corrected itself and minecraft is mostly fine except that one world. But 7 days to die as you know is well idk broken for me I guess. Weird thing is no other games have issues for me right now. Ive tried like 10 games or so and they are all fine.

Sorry for saying I had two things, the second thing is one you already tried and I forgot to remove the "two" part lol... you're welcome and thanks, hopefully we can figure something out soon. That's a complete new one to me.
It's all good :), take your time and thanks for taking your time with me on this issue.

Hey, just checking in to see if there are any updates. Thanks again for looking into this!

Hey sorry we've been a little perplexed with this. Microsoft's own documents are... not entirely helpful but there have been tiny clues kind of scattered about. I have a wild hypothesis (maybe two), though.

How big is your save data? Is it RWG? The data that exists on the cloud at the moment

I have one Navezgane world and one RWG world. If you're asking about the one that isn't working, I think it's the RWG one. My cloud data is 627.40 MB, and I have 1 GB reserved. However, I suspect the real issue started when I cleared all saved data for multiple games while troubleshooting a Minecraft issue. Since then, other games recovered, but 7 Days to Die still isn't working.

Thanks. That's interesting, In research, I have found this happening in other games in the past with large syncs. I'll try to reproduce it on my end.

Hey, just checking in! Any updates on the issue? Thanks for your time!

Hi! Actually, lots of work has been in the works and various options/methods have been investigated. This particular issue is proving very hard to reproduce, unfortunately. But, the aforementioned work may hopefully help with that. Still on it though

Thanks for the update! I really appreciate that you're still working on it. Hopefully, the ongoing investigations will lead to a solution. Let me know if you need any more details from my end!

You're welcome and thank you too! Actually, I do have a curiosity if you don't mind. How did the process go that kind of lead to this? For example... did you last play RWG or Navezgane? Did you play on a new RWG game for a long time and then it synced to cloud? Or was it over multiple sessions?

Sure! I don’t mind at all. If I remember correctly, I last played on my RWG world. I had played it over multiple sessions, and I believe it synced to the cloud multiple times during that period. I don’t remember doing anything special before this issue happened. The only major thing I did around that time was trying to fix a Minecraft issue by clearing saved data for all games. After that, 7 Days to Die stopped syncing properly.

Let me know if you need more details!

That did give me a sort of reproduction. At least, I was able to come up with heavy data usage saves to quickly test things. Console team has been making a lot of changes and I've been going though and testing behind them. Just wanted to let you know that we're on it, although it's turning into a pretty complex issue so do bear with us :) . Keep that cloud save safe though, hopefully resolutions will allow you to grab it to store locally.

I really appreciate the update! It’s great to hear that you’ve been able to reproduce something similar. I’ll definitely keep my cloud save safe and I’ll be patient while you and the console team work through this. Thanks again for taking the time to look into it!

Hey!

Just wanted to give you an update on my 7 Days to Die issue. I installed the brand new 1.4 update that just dropped, and figured I'd test it just to see if something as simple as an update would fix it.

And it worked!

No more 0x83860012 error. The game synced data slowly from 1% to 100%, and then I was in without any issues. Worlds are still there, settings are intact, and I haven’t noticed anything missing.

I wanted to let you know as soon as possible—I'm guessing you've spent a good chunk of your time on this issue over the past month, and I really appreciate that. Also thought this might help in case someone else runs into the same problem. Looks like the 1.4 update fixed it for me. 🙌
