Change version number in mod title

There is a version number that is automatically attached to the mod title. I gather it comes from the 'Version number' field that's in the form when you submit a new resource. That field doesn't appear in the edit form when I update the resource with a new version.

How do I change the auto version number tagged to the mod title?
Cheers

I got that field to appear when I selected Update Resource and then selected Release a new version. Once you do that, the text field for version number appears. Unfortunately, I can't check to see if that does what you are asking (at work and really don't have a version that needs updating right now)

Actually I forgot I did an update to one of my mods I posted - BFT 2020 Biome Stages Mod. Original one was 2.0.0.1. New version was 2.0.1.1 and the title updated automatically for me

Thanks for that. It was there a couple of days later when I update another mod so the chances are that it was user error the previous time.
cheers
