I see another thread got deleted.
I thought the OP had good points...started a good conversation...now deleted because he said he would not be playing it anymore? not good enough that he thanked them for the 10 years of fun he got out of the game?

Well Sylen must be bored on Steam forums since s/he is over here lately and is a lot more heavy handed than Roland and Meganoth. Some people a little bit of power goes to their heads. Granted this community isn't quite the cesspool that Steam tends to be.

Still, it was against the rules. Of course discussing this is also against the rules and will no doubt get us a timeout and this thread will be deleted as well.

In Soviet America, forum posts you.

So the thread got deleted partially because it broke forum rules. If the OP wanted to make his points without breaking forum rules he easily could have. I know i replied to his thread, so i don't know how off the deep-end he went. But don't break the rules of the forum, maybe? I mean we are all here and follow the rules, so its not that hard.

In the end, TFP want discourse. they look for quality feedback, and rambling walls of text about how someone isn't going to play the game anymore, because they don't know how to turn off storms and biome progression, is not quality feedback.

the thread got deleted because he said "goodbye" it was not a wall of text. he paid them respects, and made his points respectfully.
I have to walk carefully here, because commenting about specific actions of moderators is grounds for a ban. which is pretty heavy handed.

Agreed. His comment made quality points from his opinion and he DID say that he loved the game... But it also just felt negative.
I'm not for purging comments. I think it's heavy handed and disingenuous... But this isn't my forum and not my rules.

Well they need to hear the negative more than the positive really. While we all like to hear how we're doing a great job, that doesn't help us improve. Being told where we are deficient does.

I feel it was a borderline goodbye post. When I think of goodbye posts, it's more like the drama-filled, ■■■■ this community I am leaving, I am unpublishing all my mods and content because ■■■■ all y'all. Annnnnd......3 months later half of them show back up. This was just a goodbye to TFP. They already got my money and it is unlikely they will get anymore at this rate, and until their sales dry up it isn't like they will care what I think 1 way or another. So I think goodbye posts are a bit silly and pointless, but hey, if it makes someone feel better what's the big deal.

OP was never part of the community. Was a fresh account. Doesn't mean OP wasn't a longtime player. Maybe lurked, maybe never bothered until today.

Hahahahaha!!
Haven't seen a "but in Russia..." Joke in a long time.
I know right. I make them all the time, but my wife doesn't find them funny (but she actually grew up in Soviet Russia).
