Can't join a friend's game when using VPN

Hello,

Due to VoIP being dissabled in where I live (and for security reasons) I always have my VPN on, earlier today I bought the game to play with a friend on their server, when I tried joining their game while having the VPN on, It kept giving me the error that the host server has kicked me out, then I changed the VPN location and tried again, still got the same issue, after that I tried joining the game while having the VPN off and I got into his server.

I would like to know why is it that while I have the VPN on I can't join the game.

I'm banning everone using a VPN on my server since most cheaters use VPN, those who need a VPN for whatever reason can get whitelisted.

However there are so many cheaters using VPN that I don't think that this is a general issue with using a VPN.

 
I understand that, my issue is that I can't use VoIP when I don't have a VPN on, and it is not like I'm joining a public server to cheat, I'm joining a friend that is hosting a game on their end

Some VPNs, Nordvpn for example, allow split tunneling, where you can have an application bypass the VPN. Dunno if your vpn server offers that option. Another option that might help is an obfuscated vpn, but again, it depends on what options your provider offers.

That seems interesting,  the VPN I'm using is Express VPN, not sure if it allows that or not though
