PC Can't complete Pop n Pills Factory

OK, like the title says, I can't complete the Pop n Pills factory quest. I go all the way through it and clear all of it, but at the end I get a yellow compass prompt that the last spawn is actually behind me. Each time it's in the same place...a locked closet just off the generator room in the basement. I can't find any button or keys to open it. It also doesn't open when the quest exit escape hatch opens, nothing. There is a button on the wall by the door, but it doesn't do anything, isn't even available to click.

I have taken my pick ax and opened the door, but no zombies spawn. I can see the "ball" prompt floating in the space inside the closet. there are 3 boxes on the shelf, but nothing else. I've torn the whole inside of the closet out and dug down, but nada. So, I end up either removing the quest from my list, or leaving the POI and letting it fail.

I don't recall this being an issue in the past. I am still playing a21.1, trying to finish up my play-through. (I'm chompin at the bit to get to 1.0!)

Can anyone give me any advice here?

can you show a screenshot of the area. if it is the door right at the generator then its the switch right next to it.

if you dont have this i suggest varify your game files

Open your Game Library on Steam.
Right-click on your game.
Select Properties from the menu.
In the Properties menu, select 'Installed Files' from the left-hand panel.
On the Local Files page, select 'Verify integrity of game files'

No, some spawn triggers won't activate until you push a specific button, manually open a door using 'E' key, or cross a certain coordinates.

P'n'P factory's end room (the basement) is tricky, because after you complete the main stash room fight there's still much to do in the adjacent rooms

This is the door. I do have this switch, but it isn't clickable. When I hover on it, I get no prompt. I have tried to click it and nothing happens. I've verified my files but everything is fine.

Yeah, I've done this POI a lot, but for some reason I can't get the spawn that's supposed to be in the locked closet by the generator.

From what i remember, there is hidden room with spider zombie in Pop n Pills factory. That caused me problems few times.
