Can you break other people's claimed stuff in PvP?

Just as it says on the tin. I don't really want to do PvP if I can lose every single thing I have within moments. It's one thing to get killed and lose my stuff, it's another to lose all my storage too.

 
From everything I have seen that is the point of PvP. Being able to (eventually) break into someones base and steal their stuff.

Well, that's part of the thrill of PvP. For example, I have several stashes around the map on my PvP server and no real "base". Other players group up into groups of 4 or so and build a big tower together that would be a nightmare to even think about breaking into. I've lost all my stuff before, but that's the breaks. You go back out and resupply, hide spare stuff around the map etc.
