Can we harvest plants in the traders again, Please?

Now that you have to "chop" plants to harvest them (berries, corn, etc. rather than being able to "pick" them by pressing "E" like before) you can no longer harvest the plants at the trader. Could we someday, please, go back to being able to harvest those plants in those crops they always have?

 
After being able to do it for a long while, it does seem weird/annoying that we can't. On the other hand...I can't imagine that Trader Joel would be OK with you stealing his crops, so it seems pretty reasonable. There are a quite a few fields you can find in the residential areas which work well for starter seeds.

I think there are mods that return harvesting crops to the E button again. I'm not sure if that would allow you to once again steal the trader's crops.

I know there are also mods that remove the trader protection from the trader POI which absolutely does allow you to steal those crops (and plant replacements if you feel guilty)

 
All it takes it finding a single farm and you are good to go on one or two crops. I found two farms close to each other on my last run and I found 3 crops between them.

Potatoes

Blueberries

Corn

Then add to that cotton/golden rod/chrysanthemum/yucca that is easy to find and I had a pretty great farm starting day 2.

 
I never have a problem with gathering enough plants for my farms. Cotton, goldenrod and chrysanthemum are abundant in the forest. Yucca is abundant in the desert. Blueberries, potatoes and corn are the most difficult, but when you find farms and occurrences of those in the wild, it's no problem either. The only thing i have a problem is coffee, but that just somehow pops up in loot or someplace.

 
i think the overall question, by the op was "why was it removed?"

also everyone runs around a traders poi, and loots it and sells his own stuff back to him, 3 days later, repeat
