Can we go wireless?

I think that is self explanatory enough, let my battery banks and generators have a wireless box mod to let them send power wirelessly. Even though we cannot do this in real life, haha

Personally, I really like to see the cables go through the rooms and have to connect them with relays to avoid that they cross too much. I think it's really "survival".

My father is a master electrician and he trained me up to apprentice level. Seeing a mess of wires all over the place triggers me.

So does some of the electric system , but I get the whole game balance thing.

You would have to see them at least when hovering over a node with your tool... otherwise you would have a hell of a time troubleshooting a broken connection.
