PC Bug or feature? Molotov stacks get destroyed/explode on drop

This is a bug/game mechanic thread. If this is in the wrong category please say so. I read I should post this here. I also searched for similar experiences and found none.

So I dropped a stack of molotovs to give them to my friend and they all exploded. Dunno if it's a bug or feature. I picked them up from his dead body and didn't read the description. If it says so in the description then I kinda get it, but I feel it's unfair to have them all explode when dropping them. Every other item that I know of doesn't get destroyed on drop.

That's all.

 
The fact that they explode on drop makes them incredibly useful with the gyrocopter so I hope that it is a feature/ doesn’t get fixed and that as players we just learn to handle with care. ;)

This has been happening for years, I cannot tell you how many times I've almost killed myself and friends forgetting you cannot just drop it in order to give to a friend. Ahhhhh the funny memories this brings back lol.

 

1. tested and confirmed that an entire stack is drop you lose them all. hazardous to your health on accidents.


2. no toolbelt slot can be interacted with while operating a vehicle (no dive bombs from gyros)


3. #1 is now reported

if you just drag and drop the molotov from the inventory it should work though

negative for what you think. you can drag the stack yes... but when you are flying/driving and you do that... you will catch on fire and that spells trouble... that was in my report as well.

 


while the later event can be modded later and player might be able to drop bombs... that is not what my report is mainly about... it is the dropping (not throwing) of an item and it being treated as if thrown. that shouldnt happen especially if you drop it accidentally or dropping to give stack to a friend.

everyone i ever played with loved this "bug". Maybe consider it a feature? :D I always love trolling new players with it and we have a lot of fun :D

Precicely. Cheers mate <3 While we're here. Do you know why it's being treated as thrown when dropped?

 
In A17.2 I returned from a quest and claimed molotovs, but my backpack was full at the time. Suddenly, Hugh and I were on fire. Roasted...

 
Yeah, wanted to drop them for my friend who likes to burn ♥♥♥♥ up when I got them as a quest reward... well, didn't go well for us :)

 
I watched a video of someone dropping Molotov’s out of their copter to napalm a horde on the ground. It was awesome. But I just tried it myself and Joe is absolutely right that it just sets yourself on fire to do it.

Shame.

keep in mind the video you seen is prior to a18 and most likely modded for that.
