That means you do not have the correct blocks on your computer or that the blocks are invalid. This wouldn't happen with a vanilla game, so the host or server has incompatible mods installed. Have them remove those and start a new save and the blue squares shouldn't be there.
 
Thank you for your report. Since we have no output log attached, it's hard to say for sure what is causing the issue. If you do not see this in a single player game, I would wager that the issue is occuring on the P2P or Dedi game that you have joined. Could be a mod or could be some outdated files that didn't get updated.

If you do see this in single player, validate your files and try again. If the issue persists, please file another report with the log attached.

I also had this problem with the stable release on Friday (06/27) right after installing the update. However, doing a reboot of my Xbox cleared up the issue.
