PC Back after a break

So started back on the pc version of 7d2d today. Been playing on ps4 for a while. Anyway done my usual start of gathering while looking for a poi to hole up in. Found a nice building took out the zeds around in and proceeded to take out the first block of steps. Looked in the windows and seen some zeds inside and thought ok this is new. Took them out and then the first block is stairs on the inside as well. Checked for loot and headed to the roof to secure things. Spotted a zed below on the first floor and thought where did he come from. Looked to the outside steps and there was a zed jumping up on to the steps. Whoa when did that come in. Knew there were new things like wolf's and electricity but jumping zeds. Guess I'll need to rethink how I secure upper floors now

Best to take out 2 blocks of stairs, they tend to flop/jump up 1 block. I like to use a ladder and hatch, they don't seem to hit a hatch placed on top of a ladder.

Sometimes you can clear out the some/all of the zombies in a building and turn around to find one standing/sitting on a corpse, but that has gotten a lot better.

Also, you will notice everything you craft at the start has 25 quality and doesn't get better as you craft more. That's normal. Crafting on PC is a 10 rank skill, rank 1 = 50 quality, rank 2 = 100 quality... except for Misc crafting which is 100 quality per rank up to 5 ranks. Workbench combining gives more per item, and you can only improve 100 quality above what you can make, so once you can build 500 quality you can combine with 2 more 500 QL items to get 600.

25 Quality freaked me out when I first came to PC, I spent about a half hour on Google trying to figure out what was up. So passing that info along.

Cheers skullpocker

Ye knew the rough working of the quality levels from playing on ps4. The game spun my head with the differences lol loved the new zeds but the wolf was tough

I'm still on a break, myself. I started really at the end of alpha 15, waiting for alpha 16. I didn't know when A16 was going to land, and didn't want to keep playing A15. So, I looked around and started playing Rimworld, and got sucked in real hard into that game instead. Now, I've played Rimworld for a few hundred hours (Steam stats are enlightening and sometimes a bit alarming) I'm wanting to get back into 7D2D but now I'm waiting for A17! I've seen some of the new features in A17 and I just want to play with those - particularly all the new POIs. I know pretty much all the old POIs back to front, so to go through some new ones is pretty freaking cool. They arn't just one or two rooms either from the looks of it. The other terrain and gameplay enhancements look great too, so it will feel like "a whole new game" again. I can't wait, but I have to - damn you, reality!

Don't wait, just play. :) You can easily get a good playthrough or two. It's going to be several months til A17. (info based on the most accurate estimates, derived from past experience, careful analysis of forum sh_tposting and Roland's special polls :D )
