Babies/ More NPCs

So I’ve been thinking about this for a couple years now and Ik it would be a little weird to have babies in a zombie survival game, but I think it would be a pretty cool addition to the game. Since there’s no real main objective in the game besides surviving I feel it would be really cool to add the option to find or start you own communities. The NPCs could have options for you to click on them and you could have a list of options to speak to them. You would have to build them houses (if your starting you own village) and you’d have to give them assignments to help you with hunting, gardening, taking care of children, etc. You would have the option to interact with the NPCs and build relationships. Obviously in a zombie apocalypse a wedding would be the last thing anyone would think about but the wedding ring could be added and made with iron to give to an NPC to be classified as married. After a certain point in the relationship you could have the option to have a baby. It should take 9 days representing 9 months. If you die you’d obviously have to start the pregnancy over. If your a male player then you’d have to protect your NPC wife to make sure nothing happens to her or the baby. There could be a crib added to the game for the baby to sleep in that you’d have to build with wood and nails. Every 9 days the child would age to the next stage in life Infant, Toddler, Child, Teen, and Adult.

Infant- infants will cry and wind up attracting zombies. You’ll have to scramble to try and figure out what’s wrong to stop the crying. They would need milk which you could find in abandoned buildings or buy from traders. Diapers would be made from cloth fragments.
You could pick them up by using the left trigger (if your using the Xbox or PlayStation) or by right clicking ( if using pc).

Toddlers- Toddlers also cry attracting zombies. They can now eat the food you give them and need water as well. They still need diapers and you can continue to pick them up. They can interact with other toddlers and adults. They can walk up to you can ask you for food or water or the simply play. They can wander around so it’s best to keep them in a fenced area.

Children- Children don’t cry. They can now help with chores like getting water or helping in the fields. They play and interact with other children, teens, and adults. They can ask to go play and you can set them a curfew. You can ground them and send them to their room. They can begin learning how to use a knife.

Teens- Teens can help hunt and gather in the woods. They can cook and garden. Teens can be set to watch and take care of any kids younger than them. They can begin dating but may not marry or have kids of their own.

Adults- Adults are just like you they can do everything you do. You can assign them to do certain things like hunting, farming, caring for kids etc.

NPCs can be infected and turn into zombies.

This is just something that’s been on my mind for a while and I felt I should share my idea does anyone have any thoughts?

Child zombies has been requested quite often, and the developer is completely against that. This really isn't much of a step past that.

I'm not sure there is a good cost/return in the amount of code that would be required to support this suggestion either.

Survivor NPC's are already planned though, so who knows.

this idea sound  like change 7dtd into rts or sims. the best idea is make npc something like background in trader post and that's all

@SylenThunder  i have a question but what about teen  zombie i mean in age of ellie from the last of us 2 (19)?

Well I was thinking more of the walking dead tv series instead of the sims 4 I feel it would make it more realistic and a little bit more of a challenge.

you say exactly what i mean - tv series are not a game. if something works in tv series sometime can't works in game. like in movie you have 1 000 horde of zombie - it can work in they are bilion , maybe in dead rising .   games have diffrent rules ( i will not talk about things like preformance ) - ln resident evil zombie can take a lot of bullets in heads so even 10 of them is too much in most sitations. in cod in outbreak if zombie was only enemy it could work but not in round base maps-  so this idea could not work in 7dtd. zombie can destroy everything and this is number  1 of rules so npc in this way can't works  because they could be easy overrun . put them in indestucible base? okay but they will be only background

Xyth has created/curated human NPCs that can do some of what you're asking. None of them go as deep as you want with e.g. infants attracting zombies, but they are hireable (will follow and fight or can be guards), and they can belong to factions, which can have changing relationships (with each other and the player). I'm currently working on something with them.

Considering the monumental effort that had to be done just to get the current features into the game, it's unlikely that what you are asking will be in 7D2D. But, who knows.

infants kids won't be in 7dtd because TFP won't them. teens maybe as 18-19 yo . And too much effort - they have vision of this and it sound like rage or mad max - bandits  friendly npc ( now only speculations but most likly only in bases like traders outpost
