Auger mod - Peerless blade

I am thinking of building a Peerless auger blade mod that would 2x (or something) the amount of material you get and reduce wear.

questions:

1. is the old auger blade art still in the game (icon?)?

2. how do I make sure it stacks with what every you invested in Mining and STR perks/skills?

I have no idea how to do that, but there is a mod at nexus that do something similar.
