Apply Console Command "sg DayNightLength <#>"

A group of us are attempting to test out a mod that would adjust DayNightLength based on the amount of people that are logged in on the server. We are finding that you cannot apply this setting to the game world, like you would from the debug menu in real time. We are forced to restart the server to apply the change.

Could it be possible to make this command apply in real time via the console window? Like you would do set time.
