I have an idea for an alternative biome layout that is kind of similar to the "Centered" variety of layouts. The difference is the Center is neither the Forest nor the Wasteland, but that they are in opposed corners. The "Line" layout gets them to opposed sides and also stacks the biomes in order of progression, which is kind of similar, but not quite. Here's what I mean:
