Alpha 19.1 (b8) Bug bedroll!

This has been happening to me from the alpha17 "dedicated", When a player dies and selects "appear in my bed", it appears in the bed of another player. It is a very bad error because in pvp because of this bug a disaster is made. Does anyone have the same problem?

Bit more detail is needed:

  • Do you mean in a bed next to the players bed, near by, far away?
  • Are the two players allied or not? Or doesn't matter?
  • Mods?
  • Output log would be nice on a reproduction: client and dedi side Is the other bed inside a base or outside; inside a land claim zone or not? Or does none of that matter?

Definitely not being snarky, just looking for more information that can make an investigation go much quicker :)

Thanks!

Happened to me recently on a Darkness Falls server. IDK this bug related to the vanilla 7 days to die or the mod, but i died during a quest, and i respawned on a random people's bedroll like 4km away from my own base. Poor fella just looked at me how i got there... He didnt know that im confused as hell too.

Happened to me on a modded server as well. I didn't spawn on a players bedroll though, I spawned on a

bunk in an army base. Very weird. It was during a horde night with a lot of players on (30+). The server

was struggling to keep up. Figured that was what caused the problem.

Good Afternoon!

We run a 64 man vanilla PvP server (Sumner Gamers).  There are no mods, and It’s currently on a19.3.

We just encountered this same bug last night during a blood moon.  Seemingly all of the players “home beds” migrated to a new player who just tried to survive on a roof top during a blood moon, then suddenly as the zombie hordes claimed victims, people started spawning on his bedroll.  I flew over there and followed my compass to his bedroll.

We destroyed it, and it ‘seemed’ to fix it.  We reboot the server for safe measure.  Then again it happened today.

this is a huge issue for PvP servers.

we’re now encouraging players to be mindful of where their bedrolls are so they don’t get raided by someone just trying to respawn.

the blood moon that marked the start of this was day 182 and it was strangely a very slow blood moon than compared to the previous.  I’m not sure if that has any relation to it, but it seemed to happen on the slowest blood moon we’ve ever had with a small trickle (still deadly) wave of zombies.

any ideas what could be causing this, and how we can fix it?

thanks guys we appreciate it!!

Okay Great!  That’s wonderful news!

The majority of our player base wants us to remain on the most current stable beta, and we only wipe every 6 months or so.  So hopefully if 19.4 goes from exp, to stable release before then, we will get to enjoy it in a few months!
