Alpha 17 b240 random gen world jsut not right

Yeah. Sounds like you've just got some bad seeds.
I gave up on random gen worlds.
I tried 6 times with max map size then spent hours flying about to see what the world would be like. I never once found any major city or town. It was all just a few random houses and buildings hear and there. I never found any stores like crack a book, working stiff tools, shotgun masiha, ext.
I did not find any of the stuff I was accustomed to see.
All the major POIs I am familiar with were missing
I am wondering if I am doing something wrong.
I hear people talking about seeds and i am guessing they are game maps but I have no idea how to get a good one. If any of you can help me with this I would appreciate it. I would really like to play on a large map with all the POIs. The pregen starter map is just not very interesting to me.
