A20 MacOS - VSync doesn't seem to work

So it simply makes no difference VSync on/off still get peaks of 75+ fps on a 60Hz screen.

Any ideas? macOS Monterey (MBP 15" 2018 i7-8xxx, 16Gb, Radeon Pro 555X 4Gb) . Screen is connected through Thunderbolt.

Doesn't work on windows 10 either.  

i7 4790k, r9-390 on a 144hz monitor.  Get thousands of fps in menus, then once ingame I get spikes close to 200 with vsync on.
