PC A17 b199 nasty mobs being spawned on day 2

A lot of feral/radiated in poi from start too. Definitely needs balanced, gamestage seems to be way off with radiated mobs way before iron armour unless you buy from traders. Add in them taking out buildings like the hulk and its a bit one sided atm. Taking on a radiated cop and a handful of ferals with stone arrows certainly livens up your day!

You have a Pistol/Hunting Rifle. Just turn around and shoot.

The radiated Soldier isnt that bad. Just sneak and shoot him in the head. And again. You can kill him, before he stands.

POI´s and ferals are fine with me, at least in the importnant POI´s.

Dog/wolve packs early on need to be dealt with. Also those respawns in cleared rooms after 2 mins.

under normal cases i would say wtf, but for whatever reason that particular POI always has high level zombies in it (when i first found on day 1 in navesgane i opened the console to check what spawned, everything inside was at least feral). wolf packs spawning has always been a pain, but there really should be a delay before they can start spawning.

Yeah they are definitely easier to kill than A16 ones.

Just more of them now and they come earlier.

Also.... why is the OP complaining about hard mobs while playing on Insane?

Come on! Get serious.

Wasn't complaining. :) Was more just making an observation and wanted to hear people's thoughts if that's OK or not, and if it's seen on lower difficulties too.

Yeah, they should make it so that when playing on insane your character just gets struck by lightning or has a heart attack. I mean, who cares about balance?

You know that the point of "difficulty options" is to decide how you want to play? INSANE ... the hardest difficulty. So ... He chose to play with that mobs. Thats balance of finest. I never met those mobs on my difficulty. If i want them, i set to insane. But no. Why? Because i would cry and complain ... Got the point?

But hey, i like the idea with lightning ;)

I would agree that game-stage in A17 has little parallel with game-stage in A16 and previous. Playing on easy with dog hordes day 3, Wandering horde on day 5 with 20+ Zs including a lot of the big mommas. It it plain that TFP were trying to make a point for those players who said the game is now too easy.

Jokes on them though, those players are still saying it is too easy (and always will). That is why you don't build games for the top 2%

I didn't see radiated zombies or the like until day 20. Was on Adventurer (whatever the one under default is, wanted to check out game before I got too hard since I never went above default in A16.4). Level 55. I never even found one in a POI. Ferals came out early, yeah. Never ran into a wolf/dog pack spawn till after the first BM. I did have a lot of single wolf spawns try to bust down my door and get into my base.

So I think it had to do with the difficulty being set so high that you ran into them so soon. At insane, I'd say that's okay for those things to pop up early, for Survivor, it still seemed somewhat early, at least with lack of finding mods, so my gear was still all the same as if I was level 20 and just got forge.

Hah, our server ate its config over the weekend so we had to restart.

Day 2 we're prepping to crack a story house in the desert, standing outside and figuring out alternate means of easy entry when we pop our first wandering horde. 9 dogs. It's a good thing I'd found a bunch of 9mm on day one and we'd looted two pistols that morning, otherwise we'd've been puppy chow. So after using the bandages we had on hand and our only two painkillers, we head inside. Much fun was had until we got to the top where we were greeted by a jump-scare ambush of 4 ferals and a football guy. Much screaming IRL ensued along with a copious extended mag dump that ate the rest of our ammunition... When the dust settled, buddy was at 25% HP, I was at 2 HP.

Don't get me wrong, it was certainly exciting... but on day 2? On default difficulty settings? I know the fact I survived was largely coincidence and little to do with skill... after all, it's hard to be all "Look at how manly and hardcore I am" when you were both screaming like girls into Vent :p

Still, I'm not sure I'd change much, provided the spawner was actually aware of the gear we were walking in there with. If it would have spawned the same thing on a group of folks walking in there with only regular wood clubs and regular bows/stone arrows, that would have been *far* too much.

Oh right.

Let's expect an experimental build to be completely balanced right?

Not sure if it has been said, but a lot of the new POI's are for missions. Nearly every one has a feral, as intended. They are the BOSS of that house.

I found a nice barn on day 2, a few zombies on the bottom 2 floors, a workbench, some loots... Then on the third floor, I get a Feral disturbed tourist, feral tank top guy, and feral wight. Luckily I found an AK on my way back to grab my backpack. After that I dug up a treasure chest and was able to buy a suit of steel armor with 4 out of 5 pieces at 5 quality.

Also a good idea to edit the entitygroups so that dogs or wolf groups spawn as boars or copy the zombie groups there.

Yeah, that's a reason I don't use the trader. I should not have best gear by day 2 and a that high of quality, that's broken, lol. If anything needs balancing the most, it's the trader.

But yeah, POIs have stronger zombies at the end of a POI guarding the good loot. Right now, it'll typically be a few ferals. Later on, they are thinking of making actual bosses.
