7DTD File Locations.

Hi, 

I recently reinstalled 7dtd and it took me a little while to realise that my SAVES folder has to be now put in the Mods Folder. (I also had to put my GeneratedWorlds folder inside the Mode folder)

All my Saves are all working great now.

I also had to put the Localprefabs folder in the Mods Folder

Do I still need to keep the  APPDATA/ROAMING/7DAYSTODIE folder on my pc ?

I have attached a picture of my files. 

The second picture shows my Mods Folder, it looks like alot of files from APPDATA/ROAMING/7DAYSTODIE has been moved to the Mods Folder.

Does 7DTD even use this folder anymore ?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Oh yeh, that's where all the player files go. That's the current location. You're going the wrong way.  You should be putting modlets into APPDATA/ROAMING/7DAYSTODIE/MODS

The Mods folder under the Game's folder is the old location, still used by TFP for the Harmony mod, but nothing else should go there now. The old location still has worked -- I assume for backwards compatibility or maybe something to do with consoles?

Or, have you done something to specify another path on the command line when you run the game?

Its very strange.

I recently reinstalled 7DTD and it wouldnt pickup my game saves. When i moved my Save Folder & GeneratedWorlds folder to F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Mods it all worked great

Also when I tried to create a new world it wouldnt pick up my prefabs from the localprefabs folder, so i moved that also to the Mods folder and it worked great

I just uninstalled 7dtd and completly deleted it from my pc. Also deleted APPDATA/ROAMING/7DAYSTODIE

Then I did a complete re install of the game from steam.

The files on APPDATA/ROAMING/7DAYSTODIE were not created until i started a new game.

I then copied my Generatedworlds folder and Save folder and the Locapprefabs back to this location and all works like it used to.

All i can think of is that when I first did the first  reinstall of the game I didnt delete APPDATA/ROAMING/7DAYSTODIE and that caused problems.

If you use a mod loader, it may change your paths on you without your permission.  Completely wiping the game probably removed that changed path, letting it use the correct location.
