7d2d Game Server crashes my whole Dedicated Server

Hello,

I tried to run a 7d2d Server on my Dedicated Server and first everything was fine but if a few people play on it then the Server randomly closes and crashes my whole Dedicated Server, if that happens I need to wait till the Dedicated Server Restarts and then I can start the 7d2d Server again.

You got an idea what I could have done wrong on the 7d2d server so it crashes my whole Dedicated Server?

Hardware of my Server:

i9 9900k

64gb ram

1TB SSD

Read the Sticky thread that tells you to read it before posting. It's the same sticky in both Bug Reports, and in Support, and you failed to read it before posting.

 
This is a shot in the dark, but I notice your server is running win 10. Last week I was

playing on a friends server that kept disconnecting roughly every hour. We had no

idea why and nothing in the logs.

Win10 had some updates pending and once he ran the updates, the server stopped

crashing.

Also, it looks very sudden so maybe there is a message in your Win10 Event Viewer

corresponding to the time of the crash that would be helpful.

So the whole bare-metal server does a reboot?

I guess it's not a 7d2d problem then but a problem with your server or the operating system. As mentioned above, maybe he just installed windows updates?

That would also explain why there is absolutely no hint in your server log.

Maybe the server has problems installing those updates. That might happen with Windows and would explain why he does reboot repeatedly.

Yeah first I thought it would be the Dedicated Server itself so I reinstalled it and now its running on Windows Server 2019.

The "crashes" are still there and the Event Viewer only says that the server restarted without a "correct" shutdown.

And the crashes only happens if the 7d2d Server is running (the time till it crashes are different)

This is why I am so confused.

 
Post the logs of the event viewer.

It could be everything, maybe even a hardware fault (overheating or whatever). If the whole system does a reboot, it's most likly not caused by the 7d2d server as a software fault.

 
Since it did the same thing with two operating systems I'm thinking hardware.

Run a ram test maybe? (that could take forever)

Power supply?

Hello,

I now got a new Server where I installed windows server 2016 on it but the 7d2d Server still crashed the whole dedicated server today.

So it can't be the Dedicated Server :/

Any other Ideas?

I really have no idea what could cause it

note: the event viewer only shows the error that the server shows is "kernel-power" which is caused by the unexpected restarted

Is this "new server" on the same hardware as before?
kernel-power indicates a power supply issue.

No its a completely new server with new hardware and the dedicated server only crashes if the 7d2d Server is running and if people are on it (but its random when it crashes)

be power related based on the hardware reboot.

Is the 64 GB of ram new also? Did you test that?

The whole server is new.

The whole Server is new. Everything of it.

 
Post full specs of your system and "don't let you pull everything out of the nose". ;)

Not just the specs, also the configuration. RAM-Speed, temperatures under load, ...

Also the full event log, not just "it says something about...".

"Everything is new" is a common argument for "it should work", but even new hardware can have problems or comaptibility issues.

Run load tests on your system, like Prime95. Additionally maybe e.g. the heaven benchmark is there is a dedicated GPU in your server. Does it run this or does it also reboot the whole system?

I'm quite sure it is not a 7d2d issue that causes the reboot. It's a hardware or configuration fault.
