1st person view for vehicles

Having an option to switch between 1st and 3rd person views in vehicles would be nice.  But I wouldn't want to replace 3rd person.  I like watching the vehicle do it's "tricks" and "stunts" when I run over things.  And considering how much vehicles get hung up on things on the ground, it is helpful to have the aerial view to have a better view of what is coming.

There is a mod for that. You can switch between 1st and 3rd person.

And it's a great mod. Must Have for me.

Using the mod has made it clear to me why this isn't a core feature of the game. As is this is more than good enough for a mod, but as a core game feature it would need a lot more work to make it viable, up to and including making the driving itself less janky.

Still, making it a core feature would have a lot of benefits too. The benefit I'd most like to see from it is vehicle mods giving their vehicle interiors a little more attention (bdub's Hotrod, I'm looking at you).

@Sapient, I'll have to try it out then. I believe I tried one in the past for the truck but didn't like it.

@SylenThunder, I'm 99% positive I've had a post with an internal link in the approval queue before, so stopped doing any links. Perhaps it was one of those buggy forum days. Thanks for the edit.

Internal links don't need approved.  Certain other links also don't need approved, like pastebin.com.  You may be right that it wasn't working well at some point.  That definitely has happened, though I don't know that I've ever had trouble with internal links.

I posted a wiki link awhile back for someone, it probably wasn't even a 2-minute wait for the approval.

It varies.  If a moderator is around, it can be quick.  I've also had a post wait for approval for over 24 hours on a weekend once.  The average time for message approval is probably a couple of hours.  You'll get approval sooner sometimes and later other times.
