PC 1.0 console edition: Where are the deer?

 I am past  lvl 300...have every perk unlocked (which only takes 284 points), and I have spent hours and hours hunting the first four biomes and still have only found 22 deer. I have completed all of the other animal hunts...didn't find it hard to find any of the animals. had most done before I unlocked hunting... except deer. Good grief it took less time getting all the damn diamonds. Just want to finish that journal thing ONCE. lol    it shouldn't matter but...I am playing on a series S ...just in case it is relevant. map 6K3

 
They are out there. Deer aren't as common as some of the other animals, and it is very easy to clear a biome of spawns.  Biggest tip is to move around a lot. Once you have cleared the area, you will need to wait several game days for it to reset.

Thank you for answering...appreciated. I must have gotten a very unlucky seed...I am close to 200 days in game. I get that the game is not perfectly balanced, but, this is ridiculous.

They also only spawn at night now. Best place is pine forest, but they do have real small chances to spawn in the snow and wasteland also. Again, only at night though.

 
They're a lot more common at night time, which is when I usually do all of my hunting and sometimes I'll bring home close to 2 full stacks of Raw Meat. With that said, I just walk around the Pine Forest at night (Not running) and look around for deers. Also, there's times I'm not as lucky as other nights where I'll only come across 2-3 deers, but I usually can find at least a stack worth of Raw Meat while hunting at night. Also, there's a book I found not long ago, where it allows you to sprint while crouching with -100% stanima penalty so it's super helpful for when I'm hunting at night.
