Classic Doom in an open world sandbox.
Requires vanilla v2.5 (b32)

The demons from Hell have invaded planet Earth.

Doom Survival aims to prolong the length of a playthrough to day 100+, progression is slow and grindy. Gameplay is focused on long range combat and taking cover from enemy attacks.

Doom Survival has been balanced with permadeath in mind on the hardest difficulty. Set all enemy movement speeds to 'walk'.

DISCLAIMER
Due to a vanilla bug with one of the game events, this mod only works in single player. Clients in multiplayer are unable to trigger this game event which completely breaks the balance of the mod.

Features and mechanics:
- There are only demons and animals in the world.
- No headshot damage, damage is the same regardless of where you hit demons, just like in the classic.
- Traders are dead, but their compounds can be looted and lived in.
- Each weapon can only be found in specific biomes, along with their perk books, to encourage exploration with risk and reward.
- Stamina has been replaced with armour, look after your armour and you'll take less damage to your health.
- Farming: Farm plots need fertiliser and water to craft, crops are 'looted' when grown and revert to their seed once harvested.
- Workstations: Forge ahead magazines are part of the recipes of workstations and their tools, this slows down how many forges etc you can craft.
- Perks: Almost all vanilla perks are gone and new custom perks have been added.
- Gear Upgrading: Inspired by Undead Legacy, Quality 1 items can't be crafted (except knuckles) and much be looted. Then you upgrade tools, weapons and even mods one quality at a time. No skipping quality levels here.
- Water and Jars: Also inspired by Undead Legacy, jars can only be found, and early on water can only be found by filling jars from sinks, toilets, blue barrels and water coolers. There's a 20% chance for jars to smash when drinking and crafting with drinks, this is to encourage looting more and have a jar economy.
- Scrap steel: Forged steel is very important for upgrades, and there's many ways to obtain scrap steel in the world as well as forged steel from various blocks, so get on wrenching. If you're lucky enough, you may find a crucible to make your own forged steel from scratch.
- Timed Charges: These explosives can be used to instantly unlock safes and loot chests, use the lockpick radial menu while holding them.
- Everything has a use: Due to the traders being dead, everything can be broken down to something else of use.
- Decorations: I have included ways to decorate your base with custom blocks and even paint textures.
- In-game challenges: This is still a WIP, but the challenges will help with learning various things the mod has changed.
- Ammo backpacks: These backpacks are used to increase how much each ammo type can stack. Helping reduce how much inventory they occupy.
- Cleared POI tracker: Your map has information on how many POI's you've cleared and will also put a checkmark over each cleared POI on your map.
- Rebar building blocks: Rebar is back, allowing you to skip a few building upgrade steps instantly to concrete.
- No firearm durability or reloading: except for some weapons, you won't ever need to reload
- Dummy ammo: Due to limitations, some weapons require being loaded with dummy ammo to function.

Planned features: (beyond my current knowledge)
- Archvile reviving dead demons
- BFG 9000
- Demon infighting
- Arachnotron and Spider Mastermind

Welcomed features:
- Anyone willing to build the classic levels from Doom 1/2/64 is very welcome, as long as they are as faithful as possible.
