Lootable containers are missing some resources that should be acquired.

There is an issue with all lootable containers that disappear automatically after being fully looted in the game. If players destroy the container directly with tools without looting it first, they can obtain some raw resources. However, if they loot the container and find it empty, they receive nothing at all once the looting process finishes. If there is absolutely nothing to gain, what is the point of this container existing in the first place?

Are you saying you have containers that are empty that haven't been looted yet? That sounds like a bug or dev oversight, probably related to lowering your loot settings. If you are saying you looted it and also want to scrap it... you just have to choose which you prefer... a few resources you can get much more easily elsewhere or the loot in the container.

Posting your sandbox code and your log would go a long way to anyone being able to help you or identify if there's something that needs to be fixed.

Also, if it is a container that you know will break once looted and you want to salvage it, just put something in it before closing it so it doesn't break. Then harvest it and it will drop whatever you put in it.

Under the current game mechanics, there’s an inconsistent behavior with self-destructing loot containers such as book piles, clothing heaps, trash piles and bird nests.

When players finish looting these containers and the system marks them empty, the container will destroy itself automatically. I think this design is unreasonable.
Visually, these objects are made of tangible raw materials and should drop basic resources when broken down. However, if you loot them and find nothing inside, the container vanishes completely and yields zero materials. For example, a book pile won’t even drop paper after being emptied.
Even if the loot table inside is empty, players should still receive the basic raw materials you’d normally get if you manually break the container with tools after it self-destructs.

I think you're far too late to get them to change that. They made that change a long time ago for various reasons. If you're trying to get resources from scrapping trash piles and book piles... there are FAR better and more efficient ways to get those resources.

Hi All,

The container disappearing was designed to allow those items to disappear so that the player knows what has been looted vs not looted in-game. During normal gameplay, we tended to stumble over the same lootable items, like bird nests, all the time that were already looted. It became an annoyance always finding the same empty containers. It is the same mechanic behind the swapping from closed to open containers. You can see at a glance whether that item is lootable and decide to move on if the drawers are open on a desk, for example.

What you can do, if you want the extra resources, is open the container to generate the loot, then break it down. At that point, it drops a bag for you to pick up with the lootable items inside.

Moving to "Not a Bug", as this is working as intended.

Best,
Dollie

Explosives do not receive stealth damage bonuses, what do you think about this?

Happy to take a look if you can file a report with repro steps and an output log.

Thanks,
Dollie
I’ll cut to the chase: the game has no stealth damage bonuses tied to explosives whatsoever—just launch the game and test it for yourself.

However, since the player is crouching, the text prompt for stealth damage will still trigger.
