Bird shot

I understand shotguns in video games are short range but it would be cool to have bird shot specifically designed to kill vultures and potentially have it either deal extra damage against birds or just a high chance to stun/cripple.

Are you going to want to constantly change ammo or carry multiple shotguns so you can use one only on vultures and another on everything else?

Besides, almost any shotgun/ammo combination in the game currently is going to one-shot vultures, no need for ammo made specifically for them.

Are you asking for an automatic hit device, if that birdshot is loaded?

There is a viable option now, Instead of the shotgun, make the pipe machine gun,
They fly directly at you, just stand still and it is an easy target.
They screech on approach. so you know they are coming, turn to sound direction and
start backing up. Unless you have them on speedy boy config, that is about their speed.

For the machine gun you can try what I do. It is not a machine gun, it is a single shot repeater
that can rapid fire at the speed of a 9mm, but less bullet waste, and less recoil. Just think of
it as a 15 shot ar7 until you upgrade it.

It also works on ranchers, and Chuck

I’m asking for bird shot because we already have slugs so why not bird shot when birds are an enemy in game?
The question I asked is still important... are you really going to constantly swap ammo and carry around ammo that can only really be used for a single enemy? I doubt most people will. If they are in the sky (not attacking), they are harmless and it's just a small amount of experience that you could get from killing something else. If they are attacking, you can easily hit them with any ammo. And if you carry any other gun, you can use that to shoot them out of the sky while also having a weapon and ammo that's useful for any enemy. I don't really see the point of adding ammo that has little real use in the game. I've also played the game with Izayo's mod, which adds more ammo (actual, useful ammo) and I still don't ever use weapons that use it because it just feels like wasted space to carry it around.

Perhaps they could also add a system
So when you kill live animals the projectile used can increase yield so bird shot can get more meat and feathers from chickens. To answer your question, I might. I don’t currently use shotguns because they’re too short range to justify risking an infection but after ranged zombies vultures are the next most common zombie to hit me so I might carry one if I could reliably hit and take them down in 1-2 shots before they get close.
