The snake is an undead, which defies logic because you get normal meat from it and it does not look like an undead. Before the 3.0 update, it didn't matter, but with the new headshot finisher setting, it matters, because a snake that logically isn't undead can't be killed by body shots.

Hi there, thank you for reaching out to us. Headshot mode actually applies to all enemy entities, not just the zombies. So any animal that inflicts damage like the snake, boar, bear, mountain lion, etc. all have the head shot mode applied to them when the setting is on. Passive animals likes chickens, deer, and rabbits however are excluded from the list and can still be harvested with the setting on. If you are having difficulty finding enough animals to harvest with headshot mode on, I would also suggest increasing the biome animal respawn to help balance that.

That just doesn't feel right. Living animals shouldn't follow zombie rules, Zbear, sure. Bear, nah.

Thanks for the reply. Even if I disagree with this logic, at least it has become clear. By the way, the boar, despite its class of enemy animal, takes damage to the body with headshot only mode.

I'd like to second the notion that it doesn't make sense for the headshot finisher mode to apply to non-zombie entities.. (Not a big fan of it on the vultures, either, but at least it makes sense..)
