If you don't decide to start addressing the issues in multiplayer games, then version 3.0 will mark the end of 7dtd.

TFP won't accept any suggestions for server-side improvements, and I've stopped suggesting any. Most of the time I only provide critical bug reports. I think you'll end up with a complete failure. I've personally lost all enthusiasm for this; I solve problems myself, and if I can't, I give up. Then I find myself relaxed; they're selling aesthetics on one hand, and telling you that multiplayer isn't their goal on the other. Although this is contradictory.

Are you sure? Can you read Chinese or have you translated the server descriptions of all those chinese servers popping up in other regions? Lots of players complain about those server occupying the top of their server lists.

I always wondered what the purpose of those servers was, maybe it simply is spam they distribute in the server description?
It's just spreading junk information, all fake online numbers and duplicate lists

If you can translate it, you will understand how desperate the servers in the Asian region are right now.what f**k

No, I just didn't see the tons of Chinese servers dominating the server list when not insisting on playing with longer days.
So we actually got server spam now. Great.

I suggest two user configurable block lists.
One for complete Unicode script ranges like Chinese or Cyrillic. This one allows blocking spam in different scripts easily. Murica and Europe can just make everything Chinese disappear and China could make everything non-Chinese disappear (although, currently, there seems to be no need for that).
The other block list would be for parts of a server name. This one would allow combating same-script spam, which likely will pop up next for the English community and seems to already be a reality for the Chinese community.

This was only a guess by me, I can't translate the pictures, google translate doesn't work with it.

Though what will happen if I gave a spammer a good idea now?  Actually, operating a server may be too costly for the typical spammer.

You really have a god complex if you think that if “all Chinese players don’t play online anymore”, the game is going to die.
If you have carefully read the previous posts, you will know that my original intention was not specifically about the servers in China, but all servers.

Now, many players have proved that the multiplayer game interface has already suffered from malicious attacks and interference. If this situation continues for a long time,

I believe the multiplayer gaming environment will become increasingly worse and eventually even disappear. Who would still be willing to search for a normal server among a list full of advertisements?

Maybe the kind of multiplayer you are looking for-- playing vs 50 strangers at once. But my multiplayer is still alive and strong and will continue to be so. It is password protected and we know each other in real life. Zero chance of malicious attacks and interference getting into my multiplayer game.

What's interesting is that large server PvP players who like to play against random strangers have been saying that their brand of multiplayer is dying and that the game will die with it IMMINENTLY-- for about 8+ years now. The truth is that it doesn't matter. This isn't a live service game and there are no subscription fees. Whether 200 people or 2 are playing on a server makes no financial difference to the developers. They aren't concerned at all about how many people are subscribing into the next season.

People like me who play single player and multiplayer with friends and family will still run our private servers regardless of how many large population PvP servers shut down. "Everyone who will ever buy the game has already bought the game" was being voiced 10 million sales ago and is no more valid today than it was then.

People who were born during the development cycle are starting to rotate into buying customers (mostly with their families' money for now, but still...) :)

I'm in the Philippines and use those settings, never seen an ad or had any issues.

I mentioned long ago that I would have liked if they added a filter for the ping. Not for something like this but I thought if you could set if for say 0 - 100 that you would find servers that are closer to you.
Yes, I have had it set so the lowest ones show first but it also shows the ones that say ping is NA. I like smaller lists lol

The disappearance of a certain gameplay style is not a good thing. I don't deny that a considerable number of players play games with their family and friends. However, another group of players hope to experience games with different difficulties, different mods, or even different playing methods.

Maybe when they play with their family and friends, they can only handle the logistics, but in the games of a group of strangers, he might be an indispensable long-range shooter in the small team. As a survival and construction game, sometimes it is necessary to provide some options to allow players to experience different levels of excitement.

And without the server for strangers, the player's attributes are likely to be fixed, thus losing the game fun that they haven't experienced.

I agree.

Buuuuuut…..what if that gameplay style isn’t within the scope of the game and not officially supported? There is no mode in 7 Days to Die where 50 people all PvP against each other.

It’s just something people have shoehorned and jury-rigged into the game because they wanted to do it. So who bears the responsibility for ensuring something like that works?

Playing large population server PVP is just as much a mod as any other type of mod that changes the game away from vanilla. It’s on the modder to make it work and come up with solutions to make sure the mod doesn’t crash the game.

Would it be a bad thing for Darkness Falls to disappear? Absolutely! Would TFP bear the responsibility of ensuring its ongoing existence if Khaine decides to stop updating it? No!

This game was never designed to be played the way you are playing it and the devs have no plans to design it that way. It’s beyond the scope of the game. I’m glad you enjoy playing it that way and it would be sad if it did disappear but it’s not on TFP to fix modded gameplay.

This game is probably in the top 1% of games that deliver a good cooperative experience (my opinion). It’s one of the game’s greatest strengths. That is what they’ve chosen to focus on—their strength. As a PVP experience this game would never stand out. At best it would be thought of as a mediocre Rust clone.

I think they should push bandits and mp to version 6.0..... After they finish the game the way ...I... Like it, in my image and likeness.

😁
