Can you not add an option to sleep through the night if we choose. You can disable it for hoard night. But waiting through the night causes a lot of my friends to stop playing. It’s useless unless we are going out on night missions.
Unless I miss my guess, time passes the same for everyone on a server, so even if a sleep mechanic were added, it wouldn't actually pass/speed up the night in a timeframe of your choosing as in single players, but just allow you to "rest" and/or awkwardly watch/listen to your avatar sleep and snore as in other multiplayer games while time passes as normal. The night would be the same length and you'd have to wait it out regardless, iow, because not everyone on the server would be sleeping the same time as you. Unless I further miss my guess, you're playing on a 'server," i.e. your own computer, whether playing alone or in a group. There is no single player mode separate from a multiplayer mode in which a sleep/pass time mechanic could be implemented for a single person. You're playing a multiplayer game even if you're going it alone. I'm sure a game world setting could be added for a server, but then everyone's avatar would become narcoleptic and fall over when sleepy time rolls around regardless what they might be doing.
I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong. Waiting it out sucks if you don't have anything to do, i.e. you've leveled up, upgraded your weapons, cooked some food and attended to various other household duties, maybe picked off some zombies or a deer that's wandered by or something. I don't want to deal with ferals the first couple of nights myself, but I can usually find something to do with myself, including making brief forays out for water or resources without necessarily tackling ferals. If you're playing with friends, not sure why you wouldn't be able to dispatch them handily, but when it comes to day/night cycles, my characters and avatars usually go out during the day because
I don't see that well in the dark. If all else fails, you can shorten the night or possibly eliminate it altogether. Not going check the settings for nighttime length right now.
