Windows Unable to Complete Quests with "Stay Within" Objective

Platform
Windows
I am unable to complete any of the quests in this game that require "Stay Within" as an objective.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Reproduction Steps
Upon starting the quest once reaching the location & activating the beacon the "Clear the Area" & "Stay Within" objectives appear as expected but "Stay Within" shows a yellow X instead of the expected green check mark. If I go through & complete the "Clear the Area" objective while the "Stay Within" objective is showing the yellow X, the mission shows the green check for "Clear the Area" but does not update to "Return to Trader" because the "Stay Within" objective is not complete. Closing the game brings back the beacon as if I had never started the quest even if "Clear the Area" was completed; this does not fix the issue. Reactivating the beacon does not fix the issue. I have verified the files on Steam. I have done a fresh install to the same drive. I have done a fresh install to 2 other hard drives. Nothing seems to fix the issue.

Thank you for reporting.
In your output log, I'm seeing that you are failing to load a lot of POIs.
Maybe you are you playing on a server that is using modified POIs or mods that you don't have installed?
Are you having the same issue when playing in a single player game?

We had that problem as well, but it went away when removing custom POI and starting a new save in 2.5 stable.

Same issue here and need to install those custom POIs locally to make it work. However, this is not a solution for a dedicated server as every client need to know all 40+ POI download locations and install them locally. Most players prefer to stay away although many of the custom POIs are really fun to play. According to another post this worked before until around 2.3 (https://7daystodiemods.com/fluffy-panda-poi-pack/)

Since you link to a POI bundle, why would clients need to install every single POI instead of just the bundle?

The Stay Within does seem to be a bug that was introduced in 2.5. It wasn't an issue before 2.5. But yeah, if you're using a bundle, clients can download the entire bundle if on PC.

The quoted bundle is just the bundle i mentioned. There are around 10 other single POIs which had been added to the map. So, i would need to list 11 download links and ask each new player to download. Adding more POIs would increase the list...

Or wrap them up into your own ZIP, or perhaps a mod.

That could go against a POI creator's wishes, but if you ask they might be willing to let you redistribute.

When Steam Workshop integration happens my fingers are crossed that server operators will be able to specify which mods need to be installed to play and that the game will download and reconfigure on the client side to match.

This was just one example. Fluffy Panda is a bundle while there are more POIs from other creators which are not bundled. Actually we have the following custom POIs on the server:

AbandonedFort_mihawky 1.1
babel_inc
Bloodmoon Arena Burnt Forest
Bloodmoon Arena Desert.zip
Bloodmoon Arena Forest
Bloodmoon Arena Snow
Chaos-Relics-PvP-PvE-ServerLobby-2.2
Cogmart
Duke's Palace
Fluffy Panda 2.0 POI Pack 3.2 Vanilla Only Blocks
Mooneys_mihawky
PRISON V6
Super Prison Max
The Countryside POI
The Fallen Spire

So, basically each player need to check the web and download each of them. If we add another they need to download again. If it worked before 2.5 as Riamus mentioned, and Fluffy Panda said worked in 2.3, i believe it's a bug or regression which should be fixed.

Maybe move the thread out of "Not a bug".

Not something I can do. Since you know more about the problem now you could make another bug report and specifically say what isn't working and that it did work before in 2.?.

To be clear, the clients should still download everything. Most of those probably have buttons and key racks that will not work for anyone who doesn't have it downloaded. However, yes, the bug that prevents completion of quests within POI that are not downloaded does need to be fixed. That is a new bug in 2.5.
