I have been successfully running a 7DtD server on Ubuntu Linux since Dec that allows cross play. Set it up mostly for my kids and I play on and not have worries of the world in there. Today on PS5 7 Days to Die updates to V2.5(b27) and I can no longer get on my server. I have searched everywhere how to update my server but am coming up blank. Yes, I did use the search button up top right corner for multiple types of ways.. very frustrated because we was supposed to play tonight. I want to make sure we don't loose any of our progress when I update, we are on day 93is with expected horde at 96.

I don't mind reading.. or watch how to videos'... please help.

Assuming you used Steamcmd to install the dedi, this is the command that would update it:
steamcmd +force_install_dir "your\install\path\here" +login anonymous +app_update 294420 -beta none -validate +quit

Yes, it is steamcmd install. Just for clarification, this wont destroy my current game in progress.. thank you for taking the time to answer

Hey @fatboy95 i was wondering if you have found a fix yet for the issue. We are having the same issue on our server cluster. Console players cannot connect but steam PC users can.
fatboy95's issue was that they didn't know how to update their server and since PS updates automatically, the PS user(s) couldn't connect because they had a different version than the server. Is that the issue you have? Is your server version and PS versions different (and PC matches the server)? If so, you need to update the server as explained above. If that isn't the issue, you should start a new thread that explains the problem you are having so it doesn't get mixed up with this issue.

Hi Riamus, from what im seeing from the nitrado Deck (our Hosting service) The build is v.01.02.05 however i dont see whether it is a b23 or 27. i can verify that PlayStation players do have the V2.5(b27) which i believe is the newest update. the curiosity remains why the steam users can log in and use the server but console users are kicked before being allowed to spawn in. Any insights are vastly helpful!

Do you know if the PC users are on b23 or b27? If they are on b23 still, that would be a good indication that the server is b23. I don't use servers, so can't give you any advice on how to check the build of the version you have on the server. Someone else can probably explain that for you. But you could also try updating the server and then see if PS users can connect again.

A new experimental can only be published to PC (it seems console companies forbid experimental versions or they make it to expensive to publish them). So there is always a time until that experimental version changes to stable and a few days more until the console companies accept the new version. This means:

If server owners want to have crossplay then they should only play stable and advise PC players on their server to also stay on stable. If not, then they always will have downtimes for their console players as long as a new experimental is out.

I was able to update my linux server version just by running the steamcmd.sh like you would do an install. My issue i found out was my server never shutdown once I got it shutdown it updated with no issue.
