Eye adaptation is not only still reversed, it looks worse than ever.

The more they tweak the lighting the worse it gets. And the worldglobal.xml edits I had seem to have stopped working.

I understand that their goal is to make interiors moody and scary, but come on. There HAS to be a way to do that without murdering the laws of nature.
And unless I'm misunderstanding, I did this to test and it still has no effect.

XML:
<set xpath="worldglobal/environment/property[@name='ambientInsideEquatorScale']/@value">1,1</set> <!-- vanilla .55, 1.5-->
<set xpath="worldglobal/environment/property[@name='ambientInsideGroundScale']/@value">1,1</set> <!-- vanilla .2, .2-->
<set xpath="worldglobal/environment/property[@name='ambientInsideSkyScale']/@value">1,1</set> <!-- vanilla .8, .4-->

I don't know if here is the correct part of the forum to post this, and in any case I'll move it to "game modifications" but has anyone found a fix for this?

Exactly - i also noticed problem in this

They broke the ambient light effect long time ago, 2.0 or even earlier. Was really disappointed how bright the nights where in this game.
So did little tweaking to worldsglobal.xml file and did seem to get light levels at night time where it was dark enough.
Noticed that values in "ambientMoon" has no effect / extremely little, so disabled it. Got dark nights back. Side effect is that interior places get really dark. (Have also made bug report from that ambientMoon property)

These are my old (early 2025) and it gets really pitch black in doors if there is no block letting light trough.

XML:
        <!-- day, night -->
        <property name="ambientEquatorScale" value=".35, .225"/>
        <property name="ambientGroundScale" value=".15, .025"/>
        <property name="ambientSkyScale" value="0.5, .35"/>
        <property name="ambientSkyDesat" value=".35, .35"/>

        <!-- Disabled ambient moon effect -->
        <!-- <property name="ambientMoon" value=".8, .4"/> --> <!-- add, scale -->

I've noticed your values are enclosed in "" while my set aren't, do you think that could be why mine isn't changing at all?

Yes, also worldsglobal.xml is used from game main directory if i remember right. If you modify one in save file directory, it gets overwriten copy of file from main install directory.
