Console Future base customization

Some time in the future would it be possible to allow us to make other things already in game such as; lighting, chandeliers, doors, etc? I like customizing my bases and wish I could make the chandeliers and other doors (wooden doors with glass). Loving the game as is by the way. Just a thing I like to see us being able to do.

On pc you can get anything via creative menu. Doesnt console have that? If you can access the ingame console, all it takes is typing cm and hit enter. Then you d have to find out what the key to open it is on console (on pc its U). But as said, i dont know if its even available on consoles.

edit:
seems if you enable creative mode in settings for a game, you have it available as a tab.

Once creative is turned on, it can't be turned off. We don't want to use creative and not everything is available through creative. I was just hoping since I'm talking about already existing items if we could have the ability to craft or at the very least buy through a trader

Ah okey. Misunderstood it then.

Why not? Exit to the menu and, when loading the game, indicate that the creative menu is disabled. That's it, you load without the creative menu.
Last I remember they didn't allow it to be disabled but I know achievements can't be earned. Again we should be able to make everything that's already in the game. I'm building the Spencer Mansion in my current world and it would be nice to have candelabras and chandeliers

Here's the problem with decor items: the desires and possibilities are endless. That's why they're schematic drops and mods and so forth in video games.

There's a couple of mods on Nexus that allow you to pick up items in the game (posters, pictures, lamps, etc.) and use them to decorate your base. An official "mod" like that could be implemented allowing players access to game models that aren't available to them for such purposes, atm. The better option, I would think, would be to talk Sony and Microsoft into allowing mods on consoles.

The problem with decos is, they can cause massive resource drain. The problem with consoles is the limited resources. It's like trying to talk the owner of a Prius to compete in F1 .. you might even convince him somehow, but the Prius isn't going to handle the situation. As the owner knows it, he'll be impossible to convince.

On Xbox, once the creative menu is enabled, it stays active and that entire session is considered a creative session, not survival. Achievements are disabled.

Probably to ensure players can't access creative features giving themselves all the top quality gear and going off to obtain all achievements with ease.

You have to exit, create an entirely new game session with creative menu disabled to earn achievements again.

Under special rules, conditions and setting.....you know like Jake Paul fights....he might try it :). The Prius owner, that is.

Some of us have been asking for more decorations to be craftable for a long time. Yes, we can get them out of the creative menu, but I for one would rather craft them and not have to use the creative menu just to make my base look good. I understand that some decorations can cause performance problems, though I really doubt most of the ones that aren't craftable would cause problems any more than the ones that are craftable. Lights, maybe... if they can be turned on. But doors? Windows? Most other decorations? I think it's more that they just haven't felt like adding all those recipes.

I've also suggested that there be a game option to allow or disallow using these extra decorations. That would let solo players and people playing with friends or family who aren't going to try to mess up a game by spamming those decorations to use them, while servers or people hosting strangers who might cause problems can leave them disabled. It wouldn't be hard to add that as an option, and even console players could enable it and try it out. If it ends up causing them too much lag, they can disable them. As long as there is a warning about possible performance problems when enabling them, I don't see any problem with allowing it as a game option.

The scenery doesn't pose any particular problems on the server. The big problem is the large number of player buildings in one place. For a while, on the server I play on, the administration allocated a space for players to build a town. It was a flat area with roads and square fields between them. Each square was the size of a claim block. The town was basically a nice-looking one, but it had a serious problem. Navigating it properly was only possible on foot or by bike. Riding a motorcycle turned into a slideshow. Every building had to be downloaded from the server, and it was slow. We called it "Glitch City" among ourselves.

In general, the decoration issue is easily resolved by the server administration on the server itself. An administrator can easily create a store where all these decorations can be sold; this was the case on the server I play on before A19.

My suggestions works for both servers and solo without the need of using the Creative Menu, though. Yes, both can use the Creative Menu to get items and a server can then sell those items in a vending machine store, but for people who want to craft things instead of using the Creative Menu, having them available for crafting would be a good thing.

Are you playing the game or earning achievements? Besides, you can't get them more than once.
Achievements are important to many people. Being able to craft things and still get achievements is not a bad thing. What I suggested is not even something that takes any considerable amount of dev work to accomplish. They add the items to a group in the same way that dev items are and then have an option that either shows or hides the items in that group in the build menu.
