Some suggestions about animal bodies

Suggest to add more stages of animal bodies:
1) recently killed (full)
2) half harvested (autopsied body with meat/bones/organs)
3) animal skeleton
The recently killed animals should not smell at all!
In additon suggest to add mechanic which would make animal corpses begin to rot after some time!
The more times passes the more rotted and the more smelly they would become with more distance!

Love this suggestion! Would definitely add more immersion.

Curious from the people who downvoted your post why they'd be against this. What's the downside?

There are many downsides to this. Zombies need fresh meat; the smell of rot doesn't appeal to them. Humans, however, propose removing the smell from blood and infusing it into rotting meat.

I guess I was responding more to the fact that animal corpses would visibly change based on whether or not they've been half-eaten or harvested, not necessarily the smell portion. This was also before I understood how the new smell mechanic affected fresh kills.

Still, I don't see how this suggestion (and your response) results in a problem when it comes to gameplay.
