Does anyone know why I can't continue my old saved game?

If it's a 1.x save it won't work in 2.x.

Like bdubyah said, if it's a 1.x save then it won't be compatible with 2.0+. On another note, you don't need to make several posts for one topic

No. On console you don't have the luxury of going back to a previous update so you'll just need to create a new game.

And just for future reference, 3.0 will almost certainly need a new game, as will 4.0 whenever it happens. Maybe after that it won't be a thing anymore.
