Freeze issue after update

Playing on Steam on PC no mods. There was a small update I did today and since then I cannot play. The game will launch and do the Fun Pimps screen then that will go black and then it will freeze. If I click a few times it says the game is not responding and to close or wait for the program. I restarted steam and restarted my computer and it still happens. I would rather not have to uninstall then reinstall. Plus I'm not sure if I will lose my saved games if I do that. Please help!

This is happening to me as well,
verified files
checked for updates/drivers/rebooted machine
removed/cleaned game settings and saves
reset to default game start options
disabled AV
uninstalled and re-downloaded game

worked last night, doesn't today after update

no Joy

Tried launching with EAC disabled and it worked
another user said uninstalling steam and reinstalling fixed it for them, I haven't tried that yet, but I did try reinstalling steam without removing and that didn't work for me
 
I tried file verification, i uninstalled and then reinstalled game and all steam applications including launcher, Nothing worked, when I disabled EAC I got into game but was not able to join the server I was playing on because it is EAC protected. I was able to get into the game and the server that is EAC protected by going to my steam library, steam apps, 7 Days to Die and them launching using the 7dLauncher and hitting RUN when it came up. I hope this helps both in the repair of the file changed as well as helping anyone access their game. Not a fix but possible temporary work around.

I have my game in Drive D
So i go to d drive
then SteamLibrary
then steamapps
then 7 days ToDIe
then douboe left click on 7dLauncher.
When it comes up I press Run

And got into my EAC protected server to play

Also side note, I was not able to create a desktop shortcut by dragging and dropping, so I have to cycle through the above list each time i wish to play.
 
Let's make sure we're working with a clean environment, run these two in the command window (windows search for cmd or winkey + r and run cmd)

chkdsk /f
then
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
