I like the icon alot more vs the one we have now. And i think more resources the better imo I'm working on a list of new resourcesView attachment 37010
Previosly "electronic parts" were used in crafting electronic devices which was logic since u cant craft electronic devices using only electric parts
Back then there also was animal fur resource which was used to craft leather!I like the icon alot more vs the one we have now. And i think more resources the better imo I'm working on a list of new resources
That and stuff I'm thinking about is stuff like aluminum, copper, chemicals, etcBack then there also was animal fur resource which was used to craft leather!
Fur isn't used to craft leather, though. Hide is. Maybe that was what used to be in the game? Anyhow, having a lot of extra resources that are essentially duplicates (electronics is just a sub category for electrical, so electrical components would include electronic components) or having a lot of extra steps to craft anything just makes creating less worthwhile to a lot of players. There are those who like it, but many more are likely to just stick to finding stuff instead if you make it too much work/too many steps.Back then there also was animal fur resource which was used to craft leather!
Yeh, I'm not against simplifying out single-purpose steps like hide => leather or even iron ore => scrap iron. Both were "thematic", but there was no real processing step or anything, so it was kinda pointless. There are those who like it, but many more are likely to just stick to finding stuff instead if you make it too much work/too many steps.
Yes, but you don't really know what is in those electrical parts. It can be a mix of all kinds of stuff. Unless you are only ever getting parts from scrapping specific low-end stuff, it's not hard to imagine that it includes some of what you need mixed in. In the end, unless you were to scrap the exact item you want to craft, you aren't really going to be grabbing a random circuit board to create something else. There may be limited possibility of doing that (using a circuit board from a doorbell as a trigger, for example), but it's not normally something you'll have luck doing because circuit boards are created for a single purpose and you can't just rewire them. You're certainly not going to make a drone using a circuit board that isn't for a drone, or at least doesn't have very similar functionality. And the game doesn't include any workstation that would be designed to create custom circuit boards. So no matter how you look at it, it's abstracted. I don't like having a lot of extra stuff to collect when it isn't necessary and is very similar to something existing and can easily be believed to fit into that same category. I know some like making things as complex as possible to be as realistic as possible, but most gamers aren't looking for hardcore sims.Yeh, I'm not against simplifying out single-purpose steps like hide => leather or even iron ore => scrap iron. But for electronics vs (power) electrics, I could see a purpose. It feels weird using toasters to make cameras and other obviously high tech stuff. A toaster just doesn't have the parts to guide a drone... That split could work reasonably, if balanced right; rare items from computers and/or the control panel blocks, maybe cars, used for the "processors required" -stuff.
I get that, and you're not wrong about the electronics being mismatched anyway. But it could be a spot for a decent crafting gating option, if we wanted a difference between "switches" and "turret AI"; higher tier stuffs requiring better parts.I don't like having a lot of extra stuff to collect when it isn't necessary and is very similar to something existing and can easily be believed to fit into that same category.
Thx for correcting - it was actually hide!Fur isn't used to craft leather, though. Hide is. Maybe that was what used to be in the game? The main difference is that electrical components convert electrical energy into other forms like heat, light, or motion, while electronic components use electrical energy to process and control information. Electrical components typically handle high power for basic functions (e.g., resistors, motors), whereas electronic components use controlled, low-power electron flow (semiconductors like transistors and integrated circuits) for tasks like data processing.having a lot of extra resources that are essentially duplicates (electronics is just a sub category for electrical, so electrical components would include electronic components) or having a lot of extra steps to craft anything just makes creating less worthwhile to a lot of players.
I wonder why, lately, people responses started to look like AI text...I didn't say there wasn't a difference. I just said it wasn't worth splitting them up.

Wasn't talking about you...Hell na im good im not ai..... boo bop beep
Yeah. I've noticed that. Too many people unwilling to write stuff themselves.I wonder why, lately, people responses started to look like AI text...![]()
Because they are. Dreadful.I wonder why, lately, people responses started to look like AI text...![]()
