New Content Ideas

There are some things that would make this game even more entertaining. Just food for thought- could livestock be added? Like being able to build a corral and barn for cows, pigs, chickens etc.
Also, it would be cool to add fishing as a way to collect food and to be able to keep the fish and store them in a self made "pool" or moat around the base.
Maybe add some NPCs and NPCs settlement (expand on Trader Joes into a city and be able to hire hands) that are survivors that can be saved before being killed.
 
They are already adding chicken coops. I wouldn't expect them to go much beyond that. And I think any new NPCs will be limited to whatever they do with bandit factions.

I would assume the White River trader factions might get a bit of development as well since they are theoretically the group opposing the Duke.

That would be part of the bandit factions. Both sides are basically bandits. They aren't saying they are adding bandits plus the other faction. They are talking of them as the same set of bandit factions. There are only two factions - the Duke's and the White River Traders. It's unlikely that either will be all good or all bad, but just opposing groups who will each do whatever they feel is necessary to survive and defeat their enemies.
 
Fishing is wonderful. It feels like a chance to enjoy free time apart from combat and exploration. Bodies of water and terrain gain new meaning, and it leads to the creative joy of building structures for that purpose. With new recipes and fish rarities, you might seek better fishing rods or hunt for secret fishing spots in the challenge of catching unseen fish.
