Well, the jars do get a comeback it seems.

Agree
Nobody every claimed that madmole was diplomatic ;). But he has humour, the title is a good imitation of trader Rect

Agreed. I appreciated the overt humour, but still got the impression there was subtle subtext there.

Not quite sure what side you were taking, Jost.

Most 7d2d community platforms had 71 threads on Jars. One thread with 71 posts is definitely not buzzing, IMHO.

I dunno, I slapped you in the face two years ago, told you to get over it for two years, and now I say I'm sorry; how excited are you going to be? :P
"All right, glad you came to your senses."

Plus, personally I'm just waiting to see the implementation before commenting anything; for all I know, it might be just madmole with the A16-overhaul just trolling everyone. Nothing to even comment yet, nor rejoice over.
You worry way too much. Once you earn your water badge there’s plenty of jars available.

If tfp asked in this forum, I'd prefer the hoe and fertilizer to come back.
Found info on this. Joel said that when they got the new terrain shader up and working back in the day, the programmers said there would no longer be enough textures for fertilized dirt and the plains biome. So rather than lose two other biome types, they removed fertilized dirt and the plains biome, thus removing that version of farming. He didn't say if this version of farming, or the plains biome, will come back in the future.

Joel also said that weather (i.e. cold, hot, wet, etc) will return, and that there will be new weather related clothing to go along with this. Zombies will be able to smell again, and weapon combine will be returning.

Joel also said that when jars return they will be gated behind needing a crucible. If this is still true then I have no idea where jars will fit in, since they've said nothing about dew collectors getting the axe. We all know that the crucible is one of the most expensive items to buy in the game, and only shows up for purchase once a certain trader level is achieved. The other way is to read all of the forge ahead magazines, since the last reward is the crucible. So until more info trickles down about how and where jars will fit back in, I'm holding my reaction.

I read something when someone shared the Reddit thread on this forum. If all that is true and it's coming back, I think it's fine. As for the jars, I don't know how they're going to do it, but if you need the crucible, the empty jars in the loot will be valuable. I think that would be a good balance.

As others have mentioned being able to make jars allowed us to have no thirst troubles after just a couple of days the old way.
Am wondering if any way to fix it so it is more balanced.
Like if any jars are filled with water from water sources will be murky and not be able to be cleaned just by boiling. As in they will stay murky water and have a chance to give you dysentery. The way to get clean water is to have them be added to the dew collector which still has a lower rate of making clean water.
Murky water also might not able to be used for stuff like duct tape as it has way too many impurities. So clean water also has to be used so that would cut back on having a zillion duct tapes early game.
I may be missing something but that seems to me how it may be done.

Yeps, trolling till you drop. Jars are coming back, no clue how the implementation is, but boohhooooo "unhappy" to ■■■■ vinegar. Thats pappa!

I'm happy if the jars came back, although I never complain too much about the change. For me, it doesn't have that much impact on gameplay compared to other mechanics. I've always said that it wasn't necessary to remove the jars to introduce other forms of gathering, such as the dew collector. If tfp asked in this forum, I'd prefer the hoe and fertilizer to come back.

I think that would be a good balance too.

I am indifferent to jars. I don't think it will make the game "feel" much better if at all and don't think it will hurt the game either. The question just boils down ( ;) ) to how it's implemented.

I am happy that the developers are listening to community feedback and are willing to take a step back and evaluate.

So, overall it's a win for me.

I hope this jars thing won't be just another hole in the water...
